(LOUISE’S POV)
“Well I may have a way that I need your help.” I said.
Troy’s eyebrows lifted in surprise.
“Oh. Well that’s okay. Whatever, whatever is it I can help.” He said.
“Um… I think you need to hear what it is first.” I said to him with a nervous laugh.
He looked at me with suspicion now.
“Okay, now you have me worried. You don’t need me to do some crazy or freaky stuff do you? This is not about some illegal s**t either is it?” He asked me and with the look in his eyes I could tell that he was serious about the questions that he was asking me. You can’t blame him can you? I almost laughed at how worried his face showed that he was.
“Okay. Maybe this may be kind of weird.” I said to him and then I sighed.
“I need to learn how to be a bad girl. And I need your help.” I said to him.
He looked shocked but he did not look like he was scared and so I took it as a cue to go on talking.
“I just need you to teach me some things that I can do. I need to look really great at the Christmas dance and I need to know and learn The way to be. I don’t know.” I said throwing my hands in the air.
Then this annoying Troy Harris did something that I did not expect him to do. He burst in to laughter so hard at me. Obviously, I was the only one here he was talking to.
“You know what?” I said folding my arms as I got pretty pissed at how much he was laughing at me. Such a mean person.
“I can see that you don’t need my help so, you can just be on your way out o rn my house now because my answer is No!” I said to him and then I made to walk away from him but he hurriedly held my hands and he stopped me from walking away.
It was so strange for him to hold me and the way he touched me gave me some tingly feeling. That may be because no boy has touched me in like…. FOREVER ! Not to talk of a hot and cute jock like Troy. Okay, Louise you are losing focus. Please stay on track!
I removed my hand from his hold.
“Okay, I am really sorry about that.” He said to me. “I just didn’t think that you so badly want to get with me.” He said smirking.
“What? I don’t!” I said and he looked at me I surprised.
“You know what? I don’t like mean people. And you are mean. So I can’t help you.” I told him.
It gave me satisfaction to see that his facial expression changed and he sobered up completely.
“Okay. I admit that was a really shitty thing to do and I promise that I would stop being mean. I won’t be mean.” He said to me and it was my turn to laugh.
“You are always mean. It’s like your personality or something.” I said to him.
“But I am really going to find a way to adjust okay?” He said to me and then he sighed. “And well if I don’t do that then you can agree not to help me and I won’t object to that.”
The way he looked showed that he really needed help with that essay. I have to say that it got me really curious.
“Why does that essay really matter to you so much?” I said to him. “I mean I know you are not such a star together but you’re not a dummy either. You can do well enough of that essay.”
“Thanks for the ‘not a star student’ reference by the way.” He said to me rolling his eyes and then he sighed. “Well over all some of my grades may not be looking so good this term. So I need to get a higher grade on the essay or I could be forced to drop out of the football team”
His eyes told of how much of a horror that would be to him and he did not even need to tell me about it because I knew that. Remember that Troy and I used to be friends way back. When we were little and better next door neighbors, well right from then I knew that he always loved football. Everyone knew. It’s like the number one thing in the world to him and so I understand that he would be so scared about losing it.
That is why he looks so scared and so serious.
“So now that I have told you about the reason why I need help on my essay would you be able to tell me why you want me to teach you how to be a bad girl?” He said to me.
I waited a little to see if he wanted was going to laugh and when he did not, I decided that if he was going to help me then I would have to be cololektky honest with him about everything anyway.
I sighed and looked down fiddling with the ends of my sweater. I was very embarrassed to explain this to him.
“Well, there is this guy that I really like. And I’ve had a crush on him like in forever and I will like to get a shot with him.” I said.
“Oh! Well you go, Louise!” Troy said hailing me.
“Stop.” I said shyly but I laughed a little.
“Now who is the lucky guy?” He said to me with enthusiasm .
I rolled my eyes. “We have not really agreed on this whole thing and so I can not give you the details.” I said to him narrowing my eyes.
Troy sighed. “Okay so what is left for us to take this off. A handshake on it?” He said and then with a sexy smirk he added, “a kiss?”
I blushed hard because my eyes even flickered to his cute pink lips and I felt so shy. Troy laughed.
“Fine. I’m just kidding . We could do s handshake.” He said as we shook hands.
“So now we have a deal. You help me with my essay.” He said.
“And you must help me to get ready for the Christmas dance. And…and… and to be a bad girlfriend for Christmas ” I added shyly.
“Now, you have to give me the details.” He said to me. “And then we start immediately.” He came closer to me and I could perceive his cologne.
I looked at him in surprise. “Immediately? Are you serious? But we only just-“
“The christmas dance is about a week from today Louise, my essay is due in less than a week.” He said to me and then with a knowing look, he added. “We do not have time to waste. But on a serious note, you are right. We need to get things straight and more organized.”
His eyes were intent on me and I felt like I was almost in a trance as I struggled not to look at his lips then just like that, he snapped out of y.
Then he turned away from me and snapped his fingers at me making me to snap out too. “Tomorrow morning. I’ll be here as early as 7.00 am to get you. Don’t be late.” He said and with that, he walked away.
I stood there perplexed by all that had just happened. We just made a deal. Troy Harris and I. And he was going to teach me to be a bad girl for Christmas and then I would sure to get with Ben Davies!!!
“That was a very nice looking young man.” Nana said to me coming from behind me and giving me a wink.
I laughed. “He is not anyone special to me Nana.” I told her as I went up the stairs.
I don’t even care about Troy Harris. I just care that now I would have a chance to be with the boy if my dreams. Ben Davies
