Aiden I woke up to the sounds of someone being murdered, or so I thought. It took a moment for the scream to penetrate into my restless and Morpheus dreams, and another moment before I comprehended that the noise was coming from the room next door. I leaped from the bed, forgetting my weakness, and I pounded on the door that connected the two bedrooms. Instead of a response, I heard the sounds of a struggle, and a body hitting the floor. With a surge of adrenaline, I drove my shoulder into the door, breaking the latch. Immediately, I smelled coppery blood, and the vague scent of peonies mixed with...something else, something odd.
