We reached a place where Drake had arranged for us to get help for Ashley. She was already unconscious but was speaking softly in a language I did not understand. I held her body close to my chest and wrapped her body with my jacket.
All of a sudden, her body turned cold, and she was shivering. I did not understand what was happening to her.
For the first time, she was looking fragile and pale. I was worried I was going to lose her.
I could not face my future without her. “Stay with me, honey”, I whispered close to her ears as I wrapped her body closer to mine for warmth.
