How was your day

“Honey! I’m home!” Amanda called out as she entered the kitchen area. No one seemed to be around. She sighed and nodded at Kyle. “Sandwich?” She asked him. “Always hungry,” he responded, taking off his sunglasses. Amanda started to putter around the kitchen. Using bits of every lunch meat and cheese she should find, slathering the sandwiches with mayo, and topping them with a pickle. She sat down and handed Kyle his sandwich. One bite in and she was in heaven. “Best sandwich ever!” Kyle groaned happily, his mouth full, causing Amanda to giggle. “Amanda!” Queen Christine entered the room, her blue summer dress flowing elegantly around her. “You’re going to ruin your appetite!” She exclaimed. She turned to Kyle. “Not you too!” She scolded him. Amanda looked at Kyle and they both shrugged and shared a smirk, before turning back to their sandwiches. “Well?”” Queen Christine asked excitedly, pouring them each a glass of milk as if they were children, before gracefully joining them at the table. “How was it?” Her blue eyes sparkled with excitement. “It was awesome mom!” Amanda exclaimed as she swallowed her mouthful of sandwich. “It was so inspiring,” she took a long sip of milk. “And exhausting. And I got lost. Of course,” she laughed. Queen Christine and Kyle laughed with her. They both knew that Amanda’s sense of direction wasn’t her best feature. “A cute wolf boy showed me the way though,” she told them, taking another bite of a sandwich. Queen Christine sighed as Kyle let out a low growl. “Amanda you’re supposed to be concentrating on your studies,” she told her. “You don’t even need to be at this school,” she sighed again. “Oh mom relax. I spoke to a cute boy. Well man. He was likely in his early 20s. But that was it. I learned a lot. I mingled with humans. And I had a killer day,” she smiled her charming smile at her mom and felt her mother softening. “Yes well, you know. Study hard. Make us proud. You don’t need a job you know. You have everything. You and your sister are well taken care of for the rest of your lives and then some,” she added. “It’s not about that mom. It’s about making a difference. You know what I want to do. I want to help people. I want to support rogues in finding packs. Rehabilitating those who have faced banishment or those who have lived feral for too long,”. She told her mom, taking hers and Kyles plates to the sink and washing them. “If I meet a cute boy along the way - there’s nothing wrong with that,” she added. “I mean I’m a student. I’m 20. I’m a typical woman,” she shrugged. Kyle smirked. “You are far form typical, Princess,” he told her. “Kyle is right sweetheart. You’re not typical. You’re special,” Queen Christine chimed in, approaching her daughter at the sink and kissing her cheek. Amanda laughed. “I’m something special alright,” she grinned sarcastically. “But if you insist,” she bowed dramatically. “I’m going to head for a little nap. Being special is exhausting,” she flashed them her smile as they laughed at her antics, as she headed up the stairs. Amanda entered her large bedroom suite. It was painted pink, with a large balcony overlooking the river on the edge of the kingdom. For miles, all that could be seen was trees and forest past the river. It was her favourite place to sit and read and think and just relax. She had a king size bed in her room, with floor to ceiling windows on one wall. A large 4 piece en suite with a massive soaker tub and a shower for 2 was just off her room. Her walk in closet was to die for, as was her shoe collection. She went out to the balcony and curled up on her oversized patio chair, grabbing her text book from her into to social work class. She read the first chapter on the balcony, amongst the chirping birds and light fall breeze. She took in a deep breath of the fresh air after finishing the chapter. She felt energized. Excited. Amanda wandered inside and decided to have a shower before dinner. “So much for napping,” she mumbled as she took off her ripped jeans and black tank top, discarding them in the laundry basket. As she felt the hot water hit her body, she couldn’t help but moan. The warm water felt so soothing on her skin. Her mind couldn’t help but wander to the thoughts of Jake. He was so sexy. And she was sure he was an Alpha. She would have to find a way to ask her father about him in a non obvious way. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the distraction of his blue eyes and that wink he had given her. She lathered and rinsed her hair and thought about the lecture. And the sexy yet creepy professor. Quickly finishing in the shower, she dried off and changed into some jogging pants and a t shirt before padding down to the kitchen for dinner. Her parents were already there, along with her younger sister Heather and her mate, Alpha James. They had met at Heathers 18th birthday, when she got her wolf. Their father was so proud to have his daughter mated to the young Alpha. He was successful in security and business and ran a good pack that had always been in support of the royals. When the full moon hit and Heather turned 18, he had gasped “mate” and they met in the centre of the field, embracing in a kiss before the run. It was completely the most romantic moment Amanda had ever witnessed. It also couldn’t help but trigger memories of Amanda’s own 18th birthday, 2 years prior. When she had turned to the crowd of would be suitors, only to not find her mate. He wasn’t there. She had felt rejected and heartbroken. Like a disappointment for a future Queen. Her parents had tried to console her, and many males offered to be her chosen mate. Many many males. But Amanda decided it wasn’t the time and she would wait and see who the moon goddess had in store for her when the time was right. But as much as Amanda had wanted a mate, she had no problems agreeing to wear the pendant, that blocked the mate bond. It had been gifted many many generations prior as a means to block her great great grandparents from meeting, causing the largest war between the north and south in history, when her great great grandfather had taken a chosen mate who was out for his power. Once removing the pendant he was able to meet his true love, her great great grandmother, and they were able to overcome the dark she wolf from the south that had gifted it to him, to take her as his own. It had been used maliciously then and hadn’t been used since. Not until now. But Amanda wanted to do her education right. She would meet her mate afterwards. “Hey sis!” Amanda hugged her sister tightly. The girls were opposite. Where Amanda was dark haired, Heather had long red hair. Amanda’s eyes were deep brown, and heathers a bright blue. Amanda’s skin tanned, Heather’s was fair and freckled. “How was your day sis?” Heather asked as Amanda sat down at the large table. There was a large dining hall for pack members, where they often ate, but there were times they chose the smaller kitchen for them. To sit as their family unit. “A lot!” Amanda exclaimed, taking a healing pile of mashed potatoes. “But so freakin good!” She smiled. They spent dinner chatting away. king Richard and queen Christine joined them and they told James some embarrassing stories from Heathers childhood. As Amanda climbed into bed she couldn’t help but smile. Her day had been perfect. Her life felt so perfect. She couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would bring. And as she drifted to sleep, she hoped so much that it would bring a sexy wolf with deep blue eyes, the colour of the ocean.
