Chapter 3: New Friends

636 Words
Environmental Science was intense, but it was so interesting! The syllabus stated that the course would incorporate biology, chemistry, geology, and mathematics! It's good that my other three subjects would not be as demanding! There would be labs and fieldwork in this class, too! I was SO relieved to have met Claire, Vince, and Tristan at lunch. Not just because they were nice, but also because they were in my class! We grabbed two tables near one another, with Claire being my lab partner and the two boys working together. Vince had very short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He was shorter than Tristan but had a very muscular build. Vince wore a tight black V-neck shirt, plaid flannel, dark jeans, and boots. He had an earring and tattoos on his arms. Brooding but thoughtful and reflective, Vince was someone I wanted to get to know. Tristan had long dark hair that fell to his shoulders. He was playful, silly, and so much fun to be around. Tristan was mischievous and loved to prank his friends. His green eyes sparkled with delight when he was naughty in class. Thankfully, he was super smart and could always answer the teacher's questions. This new friend was one who would keep me on my toes! Claire was loud and a bit of a tomboy. She wore green army pants, Doc Martens, and a crop top with a sweater tied around her waist. Claire had a pixie cut and multiple piercings in her ears. She was also super smart and tried, but failed, to prank Tristan back. It was hard not to laugh at their antics. This was going to be a fun class! The bell rang too soon, and we headed in different directions for our last class of the school day. I raced through the halls to get to room 333, where my last class would be held. Emily and Jason were already in the back row, waving me over. I grabbed a seat near them and quickly sat down. Jason was tall and had an athletic physique. He had the appearance and attire of a jock, and it dawned on me that he was actually on the football team, a detail I recalled from our lunch conversation. I vaguely remember discussing post-school practices and uncertainties regarding a potential school play for the year. He had chestnut brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. The guy was gorgeous, but thankfully, not vain. Emily was super sweet with her blonde hair in pigtails. She had on black leggings and a grey oversized sweatshirt with sneakers. Emily was so cute but such a nice person. She was very observant and kind to everyone she interacted with. The class was just about to start when he walked in. He sauntered into class, dressed in ripped jeans, with a band t-shirt and Converse shoes. Looking around the room, he ran his hand through his short, disheveled black hair. It's longer on the top and falls into his green eyes. My goodness, he is gorgeous. My blue eyes lock with his, and he smirks, walking to the opposite side of the room where my new friends and I are sitting. I looked to see if he was sitting with anyone, but it seemed he'd intentionally chosen a seat to be alone. Interesting. I wonder what he's like. He's gorgeous, and just looking at him stirs something dormant since things ended with Alan. I squirmed in my seat and cursed my hormones. I imagined what I'd like to do with him as my eyes appreciatively looked him up and down. Almost like he could hear my thoughts, he turned and looked at me. I mean, he looks at me. It feels like he can see right into my very soul. Who is this guy?
