Chapter 14: Unexpected

River's point of view...... I tossed and turned in my bed after the girls, and I had left the basement. It was a pretty good night; I enjoyed singing and playing guitar at the bonfire with my friends. I had fun playing with some girls there interested in getting with me. I f****d a couple of them, out of sight from the other partygoers. It was fun, but I wasn't feeling satisfied. I'd had more fun playing video games and drinking with my sister, Willow, and their new friend. Sage had a calming presence to her. Theo even snuggled on her lap at one point, and she thought nothing of it, just stroking him gently. Lucky cat, I laughed wryly to myself. I couldn't stop thinking about her, especially once I saw her with Jace off to the side going at. How she had her hands in his hair and let him put his hands all over her and in her was f*****g hot. I already thought she was pretty and intriguing, but damn, it was hard to look at her and not want her even more now. Frustrated, I got up for a cold shower, which worked somewhat. Maybe I was just hungry, I thought. Looking at the clock on my bedside table, I saw that it was just after 2 a.m. I crept downstairs to grab something from the fridge to eat. Looking down the hallway, I saw a light in 1 of the guest rooms. I wondered who was up and why. I knocked on the door with the light on, and no one answered. That was strange. Curious, I tried the door handle, and it was unlocked. I went inside and realized it was the room Sage was staying in. A book was open on her bed, and I flipped it over to see what she was reading. It was "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. I was just about to read the last page she'd marked when Sage walked out of the bathroom wearing a towel. My eyes slowly raked over her, finally making contact with her blue ones. Her face flushed, and Sage quickly looked away. "What are you doing here?" her voice trembled with raw emotion. "I saw a light on, so I came to check that everything was OK," I said quietly. Now, I was having a hard time, literally and figuratively, looking away from her. Damn, Sage was very tempting right now. "Ummm, River, I need to get dressed, " she said. "Go ahead, I'll wait, and then you can tell me all about this book you're reading," I teased. Rolling her eyes, Sage grabbed the clothes she intended to change into and entered the ensuite bathroom. She emerged in record time. "What are you doing here?" she asked, exasperated. "I don't think you are supposed to be in this room right now," Sage stammered. I got up to go, thinking I'd teased her too much, and was relieved that nothing was wrong when I looked at her carefully. The girl was checking me out! Okay, so maybe I wasn't reading her wrong. I approached her, cupped her face, and looked into her eyes. "So beautiful," I mumbled, and then, without thinking, kissed her. My promise to my sister escaped my mind as my lips touched hers, and she deepened the kiss. I bit gently on her lower lip, trying to gain entry into her mouth, and she let me in ever so slowly. My tongue expertly explored her mouth, earning a soft groan from Sage as she let herself fall into me. I kissed her neck slowly and with precision. My hands caressed every inch of her body, gently stroking her n*****s. My hand slipped under the bottoms of her pajama shorts to pinch her clit and move through her wet p***y with increasing speed and pressure, earning me sweet little groans that aroused me to no end as I kissed her fervently. She wanted me. There was NO doubt in my mind about that. Sage was so wet, and the way she kissed me was intense. All too soon, Sage firmly pushed me away and said in a strangled voice, "River, as much as I'm enjoying this, we NEED to stop before this goes any further. You obviously can tell I'm attracted to you, but Raven is my friend, and I won't jeopardize that in any way. I also hooked up with Jace, and he's interested in pursuing something with me. I know that you are not, so I need you to go. Like now." With surprising strength, she pushed me out of the room and locked the door. Damn, another cold shower for me it is.
