67. Grandbaby Practice

About an hour later, Dipak comes out of my office holding Ana.
He looks so good carrying a baby. I watch him come to me. Something breaks my attention and I see my dad and Frode are both staring at me. My dad is actually smiling this time.
Dipak hands me the baby. "She woke up."
"Thank you for watching her." I take her and his eyes go dark right away. He lingers right beside me and plays with her hair.
My dad goes to say something and we both look at him. His eyes are dark. "NO GRANDBABIES YET!"
We both stare.
Frode busts out laughing. "Someone's ready for grandbabies."
"THAT IS RIDICULOUS. SHE IS TO YOUNG. SHE IS JUST A CHILD." We are both still staring. I don't think either one of us can make words or move. "NO BABIES YOU TWO!"
"No babies sir."
I finally find words. Not sure if they are the right ones. But I'm going to say them cause they are the only ones I can find. "I'm telling momma on you!" I run out there so fast with Ana. Mom is going to kill him. "I'm to young daddy! I'm telling her."
I run into our house with Ana. "MOMMA! MOMMA!"
Mom comes running around the corner. "What child?"
"Dipak was handing me Ana and daddy's eyes went dark. He want us to have a baby NOW! I said I'm to young."
She smiles at me. "I'll be right back child." She grabs a sword on her way out.
"I guess it's only me and you again Ana. Let's get you changed and something to eat."
After I get her fed I take her outside for an hour or two. We stay right by the castle and play in the grass a bit. When I take her back into my house everything is broken. I guess mom came through here with dad. I'll try Dipak's office. He did say I could go there.
I get there and Dipak is in his office. "Momma destroyed my house and I need somewhere to sit."
Then it sounds like an explosion goes off of the advisor floor. "Please don't cry Ana. I'll find somewhere for us I promise." I get teary eye's and turn around.
I feel Dipaks strong arms wrap around me from behind. He pulls me close to him and whispers. "My place baby. It'll be quiet and you can sit there with her."
"Do you have any toys?"
He kind of laughs. "No I don't. Try reading to her sweetheart."
Me and Ana stay at his place for another 2 hours and then she starts getting fussy again. "You need a nap Ana?" I get her changed. "I don't think he'd care if I let you sleep in his bed. I'm afraid you'll fall off the couch. And he did say I could nap here. Maybe I'm allowed in his room. I probably should have asked first. But we're here now. I'll lay down with you till you fall asleep. Then I can read some more out here while you sleep."
I carry her back to his bedroom. "Wow he has a big bed Ana. Lots of room for you to stretch out. I'll put you right here and I'll lay beside you. Just for a little bit." I rub her little belly. "You are so sweet." I can tell it won't be long before she's asleep.
Next thing I know, Dipak is climbing into bed behind me. I've still got one hand on Ana's belly. He puts his chest against my back and puts his arm around me. I feel him weave his fingers through mine on the baby. He relaxes after a second and I feel him kiss my shoulder. "Someday princess." I fall right back to sleep.
I wake up an hour later. How am I going to get out of this? They are both sleeping. Maybe I'll enjoy it for a minute. I rub his fingers with my fingertips and watch the baby sleep.
"You awake sweetheart?" He whispers it in my ear.
"Yes I just woke up. She's still sleeping. I hope it's ok we're in your bed. She was so tired and I thought she might fall off the couch. I wasn't planning on sleeping."
"It's perfect baby. I love it."
"Did you sleep?"
"Yea, you two seemed so damn comfortable I couldn't help but join you for a bit. Dinner will be in like twenty minutes. We should probably go that way soon."
"My mom didn't destroy the table?"
"She might have but I guess we'll find out when we get there."
We get into the hallway with the sleeping baby and my guards are standing at Dipak's door. "Have they been there all this time?"
"Yes baby."
"That doesn't look good Dipak."
"It's fine. I was in my office anyway and it doesn't matter if you know where I live. You're allowed to visit."
"Oh."
"I'm going to stop watching you with that baby. I don't want to get there with dark eyes. This entire day was a disaster because of them."
"Are my parents still alive?"
"Yea they both survived. I don't think any furniture did though."
We get in the dining room and freeze. My parents are the only 2 here so far. The table and chairs are fine but everything else is smashed. Even some of the pictures are hanging sideways. "It wasn't this bad last time I was here."
"Well princess." My mom laughs. That little fun flirty laugh she gets around my dad. They are quite cuddly. They are both smiling.
"NOPE! I'M OUT! IN THE DINING ROOM REALLY?"
All 3 of them bust out laughing.
"I'M EATING SOMEWHERE ELSE TONIGHT! YOU CLEAN THIS WHOLE PLACE OR I WON'T COME BACK!" I march out of the dining room.
I march right back in the dining room. "AND ONE MORE THING! GRANDBABY PRACTICE STARTS NOW!" I give my dad Ana.
"GUARDS CANCEL DINNER. MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS AND SERVANTS CLEAN EVERYTHING!"
I drag Dipak out by his shirt.
