A few hours later, Mary leads me out of Frodes office. "You feel good about all the changes, little miss?"
"I do. I feel like I'll have more control over my own life this way. I'll be able to do what I want. I won't have to worry about what's on some stupid contract. I mean honestly, I don't know which one of them will be my mate. But I can't be sure. If it's not either, then Tre will step in. I still believe he would make a good king."
She smiles at me. "He will miss."
"He's a good choice. I mean they would both be a good choice. They are all strong and smart. But I chose him and I'm staying with that."
"You made a good decision with that."
"What about the medical part? Did I do good with that?"
"I think so. Like you said, your mate will probably be one of them and they love you already. I don't believe they would hurt you ever. They want what's best for you. Both of them being able to talk to the doctors about you will be good. The dancing part made me laugh. I don't know if anyone will agree to that."
"What? I like to dance and I want to dance with whoever I want. At balls or anything. I mean, I'll still sit by Tre but I don't want to ask his permission for anything. I'm still my own person. I hate the idea of asking permission for anything. I'm going to be a queen someday. I should be able to dance at least."
"Princess." Dipak comes out of his office. "You ok? You were really upset."
I smile at him. "Yes I am." I grab Mary's hand. "I think I made good changes to it."
"You want to have lunch with me?" He seems worried.
The guard comes down the hallway. "Advisor Dipak you are being summoned to an emergency advisor meeting."
"Why I'm not on that contract?"
We watch at the guards pull Tre as well. They stare at each other confused.
Frode walks down the hall towards us all. "Princess Nadine, you will be summoned in about an hour. This is probably going to take some negotiating." He stares at his papers. "But I think we can all come to some new agreements."
Mary starts laughing. "Even with the dancing sir?"
Frode chuckles. "I definitely didn't expect that one. The Princess is full of surprises. She really keeps me on my toes." He shakes his head. "Ok let's go."
I smile at Mary. "Let's go to the market and eat."
After an hour we come back and I get summoned the second we get in. Me and Mary sit down at my end of the table. "Daddy, Advisors." They all stare at me. "Hello?"
"My princess." Daddy remembered how to talk. "That was different."
I smile at him.
Tre sits back. "You do realize that in the public eye, you will still belong to me? I figured you would change that."
I take a deep breath. "More than likely, one of you are my soul mate. I don't know which. But there is still a chance it won't be either. You are both a good choice for a king. I would be happy mated to either of you... I really don't remember where I was going with this." I put my elbow on the table and rub my eyes.
Tre smirks. "Public eye princess."
"Well, someone has to stand with me at public events, and you are on paper as the chosen already... But, if you don't want to, then pick someone else for that job."
"Nope, I'm fine with it." He shrugs his shoulders at my dad. Daddy nods.
Dipak smiles. "The dancing princess," Oh here it comes. Mary is trying not to laugh already. "You can dance with whoever you want. No asking permission." My head springs up and I stare at him smiling. "BUT," aww. "Any of us or your father can step in at any time to stop it and you must stop immediately with that person. Will you accept that?"
I nearly tackle Mary out the chair and drag her into the hallway. "Can he change what I wanted?"
"I believe he just did."
"Do you think I should take it?"
"Well if you want to not ask permission yes. Maybe ask for some reasons why they would stop a dance." She has a confused look on her face and shrugs her shoulders.
We sit back down. "And what are some reasons you would stop a dance?"
Tre smirks. "Kissing."
Daddy crosses his arms. "He's standing within 6 inches of you."
"But daddy, boys are so warm."
"HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW WARM BOYS ARE?" Oops daddy is mad.
Mary throws her hands up. "I know nothing."
Dipak turns to dad. "She has passed out quite a bit lately."
Tre nods. "I've had to ride with her on a horse before."
Gunner starts laughing again. I've got my head on the table.
"Princess."
"Daddy."
"Have you ever seen a man without a shirt on?"
I try to climb under the table and Mary loses it.
"WHO?"
I mouth 'help' at Mary.
"She points at Dipak." While trying not to fall off the chair laughing.
"WHAT?... ANSWER FOR YOURSELF NOW DIPAK."
Dipak has no idea what the hell is going on. Tre is glaring at him.
"I was a little girl daddy. Remember? Dipak without his shirt on. You were going to make him run around that way. Said it makes everyone happy."
My dad starts chuckling. "I do remember that."
Mary busts out laughing again. "Remember Gunner... YOU SHOULD TRY SLIPPING NEXT!"
We both completely lose it.
"What are you 2 talking about?"
Mary calms herself. "The carriage ride to see Tre that first time. She slipped when the tire broke. Gunner grabbed onto her and carried her. She wouldn't talk for a long time after that. When I finally got her to speak, she said, YOU NEED TO SLIP NEXT."
Everybody in the room busts out laughing.
After a couple of minutes, Dipak smiles at me. "Do you agree that we can stop dances princess?"
"Yes, I will agree to that."
"One last question, I had princess. You want Mary, your parents, Dipak, and Tre all listed on your medical charts? Am I reading that right?" Advisor Frode is staring at his paper again.
"Yes sir. No one cares more about me more than those people. They can all talk to a doctor about my medical stuff. Probably would be good having them all on there after what happened last time, anyways."
"Did anyone have any complaints about that?"
They all say no.
"The changes will take effect as soon as the new one is signed by all parties." He passes the bonding agreement around the table.
"Do I sign it?"
"No princess. Your dad will have to for you." I give him a dirty look as they all sign it.
