56. Antidote

Gunner leads us to the furthest room. "Figured it would be safe in here. At least till we get it all sorted out." "That's fine. Thank you Gunner." I give him a smile and he gets a little pink on his cheeks. He is so cute. I stare at the foot again. "3 long toes. But no claws or hooks or anything." I touch the back of the heal and the toes grow by about 3 inches and have huge pointy nails on them. "AAAAAAHHHHHHH!" I throw myself backwards and land on the floor. Dipak picks me up right away and puts me on my feet. I brush myself off. "Sorry guys. Still a little jumpy from the blister incident." They all smile at me. I look at Tre and start laughing. "Sir I won't be touching that again either." He laughs and shakes his head. "Yes. Advisor Tre was right. These are definitely for offense. And they will have the poison on them. They seem to be very thick and will be able to cut through flesh and clothing very easily. And that poison was not very pleasant." Dipak steps over to me. "Let me see your arm princess." He wipes some of the antidote on his fingers. "Tre touch a toe. Use the antidote off the princess if it's bad." Tre grabs a toe and yells, "f**k THAT HURTS." He grabs some of the antidote off my arms and stares at his hand. "That is weird. The pain is gone immediately." Dipak smears the antidote all over his hand and then grabs a toe. Nothing happens. He then grabs the same toe with the other hand and starts cussing. "f**k. Yep that hurts without the cream. Thought Tre was being a" "PRINCESS ON THE FLOOR." Daddy yelling again. "Sorry sir." I laugh. "Ok guys. This really is all I know this time. Other than I want to cover myself in that cream my skin is so soft now." "Go put your glove back on princess. It was a medical emergency, but that is over now." "Yes daddy. I'll be in my office if you have any follow up questions." "Thank you princess." I get new gloves on and when I get to my office, the chains are sitting on my desk. I smile at them. I put the chains by the rock on the bookshelf and sit down. All the advisors and daddy come in. They are all talking to each other about antidotes and injuries. They are not really paying any attention to me. "GUYS!...You are in my office. Did you want something from me? I do not have a conference table here. Please do not conference here. There is not enough room." Daddy laughs and sits down on the other side of my desk. "Maybe I should move you to the advisor floor. Your office would be bigger." "Daddy, I'm a doctor not an advisor. How would that make any sense at all? And this office is plenty big for me. This is the first time I've even had this many people in here. Mostly it's just Dorseti or Elkie and Mary." "We could extend it for you." "No. It's perfect this way. I have my couch for naps. Shelves for filing. A desk for working. And 4 chairs for when I have to talk to families. This is perfect for a doctor." "You should still have a conference table." "FOR WHAT? I've been doing this 80 years and this is the first time you've all been in here. I like my office the way it is." Frode smirks. "We can always put a conference room down the hall sir." Dad nods at Frode. "Thank you. Now how can I help you?" Dipak and Gunner sit on my couch behind me. The other 4 land in chairs. I kind of roll my chair so we are all in a circle. "ALSO. NO ONE HURT MY DESK.". Dracul nods. "Princess we need your thoughts on something." "Yes sir." "We all seen Advisor Dipak touch the claw and not get hurt. Do you think if we put that cream on the outside of everyone's skin, if a puncture was made, the poison would not make it into the system?" "It is possible. The cream kind of makes a barrier anyway. Unless the puncture was to deep. Then the antidote would have to be placed inside the body." "How much of the antidote do you have or can you make?" Dipak is laid back on my couch looking at me. He's got one arm above his head. I stare at him for a second and Gunner starts to smile. s**t, my eyes. I close them for a few seconds and think about flying. Jumping out his office window and flying. If they don't clear up, I guess I can always jump out my own window this time. "I would have to check with Vitchen but the ingredients seemed fairly common." I open my eyes up and Dipak gives me a little nod. "I'll go ask her now." "Vitchen need your assistance. Dorseti come here a second." "What you need Nadia?" I ask Dorseti under my breath. "Are my eyes clear or dark?" She laughs. "Clear." "Ok Vitchen come on... They have questions about the antidote." I can hear Dorseti still laughing when we get back to my office. "Vitchen can answer your questions about the antidote Advisor Dipak." I stare at the wall when I say it. I won't look at him anymore. I search my desk while they talk with Vitchen about the antidote. I'm sure I can find a paper here to fill out or something. After they get done with Vitchen, everyone stands up and talks for a few seconds. I stand up with Frode and compare my notes with his. Everything matches really well. I watch them all leave except Dipak. He walks up behind me and puts his mouth by my ear. "I saw that princess." I smile a bit embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I can't help it sometimes. I'll be more careful." I can tell he's smirking even though he's behind me. He kisses my head and wraps an arm around my waist. "I love those dark eyes you have princess. Don't stop showing them to me please." I start to laugh. "I was thinking about jumping out my own window this time." He laughs too. Wow, I love his laugh. "DIPAK!" "Coming sir!" He squeezes me around my waist. "We'll be back by dinner. Going to check that cliff." I flip around and hug him. "Be careful out there." He wraps both his arms around me. "I will princess." "DIPAK! DON'T MAKE ME COME BACK DOWN THERE!" He kisses me on the cheek and runs out. "Sorry sir. Was telling her to tell her mom we will back for dinner." That makes me laugh. Wonder if anyone believed it. I hear my dad say, "That was probably good thinking." I bust out laughing.
