62. A Little Kiss

The next morning I wake up and stretch into Mary. She opens her eyes. We are both in my bed. We still have the human dresses on.

"Oh I need blood."

"Me too. The boys left some and a couple cups. Maybe we can stop being mad at them now?"

"Yea maybe. I'll see after the blood."

"I thought they both did good last night princess. They probably didn't like seeing you with other men. I thought they behaved well."

"Yea they did good. All of them."

"Princess Nadine you are being summoned to the emergency advisor meeting."

"Well this isn't good."

Mary laughs and grabs gloves and a veil.

I sit in my seat at the conference table. I still have the same clothes on. They are a bit dirty and I don't want to be awake yet. My dad and all the advisors are there. I put my head on the table and wave.

"Having a late start to the day princess?"

"Yes daddy." I don't pick my head up.

"Well we need to do some more testing with a couple of guards. Could you be ready after the lunch hour?"

"Yes daddy."

"Princess."

"Yes daddy."

"Are you ok?"

"Yes daddy." I sit up and pull a stick with a leaf on it out of my hair. I stare at it for a second.

The boys crack up laughing.

"Princess, be ready after lunch."

"Yes daddy." I hear all the boys laugh harder as I get into the hallway.

Mary gets me up for lunch and I go to the medical area.

"Did you two have fun last night?"

"Yes. Lots of dancing. We checked but they didn't have dresses at this one. I'll check next time."

Dorseti smiles at me as the door opens. Tre and Dipak come up to the nurses desk.

"Are we still mad at them?"

"No. We are not mad at either of them."

She crosses her arms. "Then who are we mad at?"

"Give me a few minutes. I'm sure I'll pick someone new."

The three of them laugh.

Dipak looks me up and down. "You feel better? You seemed a bit rough this morning."

"You left a tree in my hair."

"Sorry I didn't check your head. Do you remember what I told you though?"

I shake my head.

"Do not take alcohol from strange men."

"Oh yes I remember that." I roam away over to the... anywhere. I don't know where I'm going but I like alcohol every now and then. It taste so good and make everything funny.

"PRINCESS."

I plug my ears and run. Straight into my dad walking into the medical area.

"Hi daddy."

"Princess. Why were you plugging your ears?"

I turn around and Dipak is standing there leaning on a wall. I give him my help me face and he shakes his head smirking.

"They were trying to tell me what you are going to do to the guards daddy." I force my eyes to get teary.

He puts his hands on my shoulders. "Princess we need to do the testing to keep us all safe. The guards are all aware of what they are volunteering for."

He walks by me. Then I stick my tongue out at Dipak smiling.

He raises his eyebrows and takes a step towards me. I do a girly scream and start to laugh.

"Enough you two."

"Sorry sir."

Frode and Dracul get there next followed by about 5 guards. Oh, we are doing a lot of testing.

Frode hands me a stack of papers showing me what they are going to do to each guard. Basically I have to make them unconscious. They will run the test. I will be there for any problems that arise.

"This is good. I will be making them all unconscious first. And I will not be doing any surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. I am also not on the floor so I won't get called out unless there is a big emergency."

They all nod at me and I show them to 2 rooms. "We will move an additional bed in this room guys. So, it will be 3 and 2 patient wise."

"How long do you think they will be in here?" Frode is filling out more paperwork.

"If everything goes as expected, 1 or 2 days. But they will have lots of follow-up appointments. We need to check for long-term damage. Any injury to the heart can have issues we don't see right away. And blisters on the heart are an injury."

Frode writes something else down. "What do you think the risk of death is?"

"To be honest I don't know. I don't even know if the blisters on the heart could kill us or just be really painful. The blisters could also have a time effect on the heart. Say at 1 minute it could cause irreparable damage. The last patient had blisters for 30 seconds on his heart. He did recover at that point."

Frode writes more down. "Princess we will be injecting the patients in the stomach with the poison. We will then wait various amounts of time before placing the antidote in. We will be checking the times for permanent damage."

Tre leans against the table. "What's wrong princess?"

"I hate using people for experiments. They could die." Now I really do have tears in my eyes.

Dipak goes to walk to me and daddy puts his hand out to stop him. "Princess we will do this with you or without you... They will be more comfortable with your help."

"Give me a few minutes to get the rooms set up. You can wait in my office. I'll tell you when everything is ready."

He nods and leads the guys out.

I get the girls to help me move a bed in. Then I get the blood drips set up and 5 drugs. Then a bunch of the antidote for them.

"The rooms are set up daddy."

"Dipak go with her and get the guards knocked out." They are all sitting around drinking blood in my office.

Dipak leads me out. "I'm surprised your dad sent me with you princess."

"I'm not. You're the only one who tried to comfort me when I got upset a bit ago. He's not going to send me with someone who rolls their eyes. That would make me feel worse."

He stops me right outside the patient door. He tilts my head up and looks in my eyes. "You'll be ok sweetheart. I'm right beside you."

"Aww. Now I really know why we like him."

I start laughing. I didn't even see her standing there. Dipak smirks. Then he lifts the veil and kisses me on the lips. Not a real one. Just a little kiss. I stand there stunned for a second.

He pulls me in closer. "One of these days I'll get a real one. But that will have to work for now."

I give him a hug as he opens the first door.
