Chapter Twenty-Seven Revelations  ***Lorana*** The evening sky was painted in warm, dusty hues of orange as the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the front porch of my dad’s house. As I stood there, my eyes fixed on the old front door, my hands trembled, and my heart pounded like an angry jackhammer against my chest. On the wall to our right hung a faded, hand-painted sign that read ‘Mr & Mrs Shade’. Even though my mother had passed away, my dad refused to take it down. It still held pride of place on the porch. A wilted flowerbed sat on the windowsill beneath the sign, the petals of the flowers brown and crumpled, a stark contrast to the vibrant colours they once had. It reminded me of all my good and bad memories in this place. A lot had changed since those carefree day
