My hair was pulled up it a half up-do. My nails and make up were done and I was standing in the Foyer staring at myself in the over-sized mirror. The dress was made out of a nude colored silk material with black lace details through out the dress. The back was dramatically longer than the front. The front only coming down just below my knees. I looked beautiful, I felt beautiful. Even as I stood here looking to be around 7 months pregnant I felt radiant. On my wrist I wore a diamond tennis bracelet and around my neck was a intritcately designed necklace that hung just above my cleavage.
"You look gorgeous, Draco won't be able to take his eyes off you." Luna said as she joined my side wearing a baby blue gown. Luna was the only female I had met that could make something so simple look so elegant.
"I can say the same about you." I beamed. I brought my hand to my stomach as I felt a kick and smiled. "It seems as if this little one wants us to get going." And with that we made our way into the elevator that took us down to the main lobby.
The elevator doors opened up to the busy lobby filled with men in suits and pregnant women in dresses of every color. It was easy to tell my peers from the muggles as the muggles stared at us longer than normal and even some did a double take.
"Gorgeous!" Draco said as he met me at my side, extending his arm in a gentleman-manner. He took my hand into his, bowed slightly and then placed a kiss on the top of my hand before wrapping his arm around my waist.
Just as we stared into the ballroom I saw a extravegantly dressed Faye standing off to the side with Seamus. It was clear that the two were arguing. Just as we passed them she paused and her eyes followed Draco and myself. I turned away without so much an expression.
Neville, Luna, myself and Draco shared a table closest to the doors. Faye, Seamus, Dean and Parvarti sat across from us. Throughout dinner I glanced up to look at their table only to get bitter glares from Parvarti and Faye. It was clear what had happened. Faye had managed to turn Parvarti against me. How, I wasn't sure but I was confident it required a lot of lies and manipulation on her end.
The fact that Parvarti was no longer a friend of mine wasn't what bothered me the most. It was what Faye must've said to make it that way. I could imagine the lies and deciet.
Once we finished dinner and had our dessert the music began and the lights dimmed slightly. Neville rose to his feet and offered his hand to Luna and the two made their way into the center of the room that was set up like a dance floor. I watched as Neville began swaying with Luna, dipping her slightly and twirling her before bringing her close and swaying again.
It was beautiful.
I admired the man that Neville had turned into. I remembered the forgetful and scared little boy he was through out the years. But when we needed bravery he stepped up and stepped up quick. I remembered fourth year how nervous he was and then fifth year at the Department of Mysteries when he stood up against Bellatrix.
I shook my head of the thoughts as soon as they came. Now was not the time to have a fit from the flashbacks. Nope. Not today.
When I focused and turned my attention back to the room I saw Partvarti and Faye, both their heads were inclined and they were whispering to each other and glancing occasionally in my direction.
What was up with them?
"Hermione... Love." I turned my head to Draco and smiled as he stood before me, his hand out to me. "Will you dance with me?" He asked.
He didn't need to ask me twice. I placed my hand into his and he brought me to my feet. In an series of movements that I thought were too elegant for myself, he twirled me as we made our way to the center of the room.
"Wow," I breathed. "I didn't know you were so graceful on the dance floor." I said to him.
His hands moved to my hips and he pulled me in close. "Mmm." He grinned. "Dance lessons when I was a kid. Not like a Malfoy ever had a reason to dance, beside their wedding day, but it was one of those pureblood right of passages." He rolled his eyes, mocking his pureblood upbringing.
I brought my arms around his shoulders as we continued swaying back and forth. "So, what else does Mr. Malfoy know." I said in a velvety voice.
He kissed my forehead and then stopped dancing before leading me back to our table. "I'm going to go and use the loo and when I get back I will tell you my exclusive-" He said in a smirk. "Secrets." He brought me in for a passionate kiss before turning and heading from the room.
I took a seat and began sipping my water as I watched Neville and Luna continue to dance. Suddenly Parvarti was taking a seat in the chair Draco had sat in.
"Oh, didn't expect you-" She cut me off as I began.
"Cut the crap, Hermione. Faye told me what you are doing and I just want to tell you that it is a waste of time. There is only one reason Draco is with you and it isn't for love." She snapped.
I rolled my eyes and I shook my head in disbelief. "What exactly did she said I was up to, apart from trying to get perfect scores in this class, that you are stupid enough to belief." I slammed back.
"You are trying to break their engagement."
My mind derailed at her words. Draco and Faye weren't engaged. Were they?
"You are completely rediculous. Draco and Faye aren't engaged. He doesn't even like her."
Parvarti laughed. "It's funny how a know-it-all like yourself misses all the signs. The Malfoy name has been smeared since Lucius was locked away in Azkaban for the mishap at the Ministry of Magic. The only way to gain back the respect that the Malfoy name deserves is by winning over hearts. A pureblood like Draco being with a mudblood like yourself, it will persuad alot of people that the remaining heir to the ancient pureblood name has changed."
"That is rediculous." I rushed out, slightly offended at her words against Draco. "Draco isn't that low."
"Isn't he, though? He is a Malfoy. You don't grow up in a pureblood family like he did and just wake up one day a changed man." She challenged.
I rose to my feet, not wanting to listen to another word and decided to go wait for Draco by the restrooms.
"I warned you!" She shouted after me.
As I hurried to get away from her I glanced over my shoulder at the table where Faye had been sitting. She was gone.
I took a seat on the sofa outside the restrooms and waited for Draco to come out. It had been about five minutes, so if there was a line he should be coming out any moment now.
"Hey Hermione," Seamus chimed as he walked out of the bathroom another three minutes later.
I looked up at him. "Have you seen Draco in there?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "Last I heard from him he was just coming out of the bathroom as I was going in and Viktoria told him that you went to bed because you weren't feeling good."
My eyes widened as I rose to my feet and started towards the elevators to the room. I most definitely didn't go to the room. As the elevator came to a stop and I entered the foyer I froze as I saw myself and Draco entwined together on the carpet in front of the fireplace.
"How low can you get!" I screamed as I darted forward, pulling my naked doppleganger off of Draco.
"Get your hands off..." Draco began as he jumped to his feet. He suddenly froze as he looked back and forth between myself and myself. "What the hell is going on here!"
I slapped the fake me across the face and shoved her down onto the couch. "Faye happened with polyjuice potion." I went to go and punch her in the face only to have Draco grab my fist.
"How do I know you are actually Hermione." He asked.
"Ask the b***h a question." I snapped.
"What did I tell you in our conversation last night when you asked me what you deserved?" He said in a firm clear voice.
"Yeah, what did he say?" I asked the fake me.
She looked up at me with a nervous expression and I grinned before turning to Draco.
"I said I deserved to be happy and that you made me happy so you said as long as you make me happy you will not leave me." I stated matter-of-factly.
Draco crossed the room and yanked the naked doppleganger of myself up and backed her against the wall. "How many times do I have to tell you before you get it through your thick head, I don't like you Faye. I like Hermione... I love Hermione."
"No you DON'T!" She shouted. "It isn't natural. You are a pureblood, she is a mudblood. You should be with me!" She said manically. "We belong together Draco."
Draco stepped back as she reached for him. "You need to get the hell out of our room before I throw you out."
"You wouldn't," she sneered. "Not as long as I am in her form without any clothes on." She turned to look at me with a smug look on her face. "You are from this muggle world, right? What if someone saw you."
I couldn't take it anymore. I lunged at her and grabbed her by her hair before throwing her to the ground. She quickly kneed me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me before flipped me onto my back and began punching me.
"YOU DON'T DESERVE HIM!" She screamed in my face.
"Get off me you are crazy!" I screamed as I tasted blood.
I could hear Draco shouting at her and feel as he tried to pull her off of me. Her grip on me was too strong, or she was simply too heavy, or Draco didn't want to risk hurting the innocent life inside of her.
Suddenly she lifted me forward by my shoulders and then slammed me back against the ground causing my head to hit hard. The pain that filled me was so extreme I thought I had been tortured with the cruciatus curse.
"Get off her!" I heard Draco shout and then I heard a crash as he finally managed to pull her off of me.
Seconds later she began to whimper before letting out a ear piercing scream.
"Oh shit." Draco said. Suddenly he began panicking.
"Draco..." I gasped as I pushed myself into a sitting position and clutched my head. I glanced to Faye - who was still in my form- and my eyes widened. It was clear that she was going into labor.
"Draco, you need to go and get Professor Tonks, now!" I shouted before moving to kneel at her side.
I watched him run to the elevator and then turned my attention back to Faye. It felt so weird to watch myself writhing in pain. It reminded me of....
Nope, I couldn't think of that now.
"Leave me!" Faye screamed through tears. "Get out of here!"
I shook my head as I looked at her. She had been so desperate in her attempts at Draco that I no longer felt hate towards her, but pity.
"Don't you dare look at me like that!" She snapped through clenched teeth.
"Like what?" I asked.
"You don't dare pity me, I should be pitying you. I'm the pureblood." She responded before letting out a wail of pain.
I didn't even bother responded and for a moment I wanted to get up and leave, but I stayed. I had too good of morals to just leave her like this. No matter how bad I wanted to.
Not even five minutes had passed before Draco and Professor Tonks arrived. Following closely behind them was Seamus.
"What happened here!" She snapped.
It was clear that rules had been broken as there were two of me in the room and one was naked.
"Faye took polyjuice potion to turn into Hermione so she could trick me. Then Hermione caught her and Faye just lost it and started attacking Hermione. I pulled her off and then she just started screaming like she was in pain." Draco spoke.
"Well, it seems like the baby is coming."
"Merlins beard, are you for sure?" Seamus asked. His eyes were on the floor as he didn't want to look at Faye, who lay on the floor naked, because at this moment she looked like me.
"I am confident. Like I mentioned before, this charm is realistic to what an actual pregnancy will be like. Stress and ingesting things that you shouldn't take during pregnancy can lead to complications, miscarriage and preterm birth. At this moment I am unsure which one is which, I just have to say if this baby is born dead you, Faye, will have recieved an F."
"What about me, Professor?" Seamus asked.
"I will have to work with the charm to bring the baby back to life and you will then become a single parent in this project."
"Oh." He suddenly seemed to grow nervous.
"And between the five of us, that might become your relatity regardless. Taking polyjuice potion is grounds for expulsion and the Board of Governors will hear about this, especially since it has taken place on muggle grounds."
Part of me was happy that she was more than likely going to be expelled, but the other half felt bad.
For the next ten minutes we listened to screams and watched as Faye pushed. Finally, she let out an ear-shattering scream and then let out a sigh of relief before relaxing. In the next instant a baby appeared in Seamus' arms. It was clear, by looking at its privates, that it was a girl. She had his colored hair and cream colored skin.
"Wow." I breathed as I listened to the baby cry.
"Tomorrow when those that have already had their appointments board the Hogwarts express, all four of you will be joining them." Professor Tonks said in a firm tone.
"You can't expell me." Faye breathed. "I'm a pureblood!"
I watched as Professor Tonks gathered her clothes from the floor and tossed them at her. "That is the problem in today's world. Purebloods thinking they are entitled to being treated more surperiorly than others of lesser blood status. You broke a rule, a very important rule in the presence of muggles. I am going to push your expulsion and it will happen. So once you get back to Hogwarts, I would start packing your bags."
"You mudbloods are all the same, always sticking up for one another!" She shouted at Professor Tonks. "I'm glad Bellatrix killed your daughter and her stupid husband!" Faye snapped.
Suddenly Professor Tonk's was back in Faye's face... my face... her face fierce. "Don't you ever speak ill of my daughter or son in-law ever again!" She snarled. "And so you know, you pathetic bratty child, Bellatrix was my sister." She turned and stalked from the room.
