The skies were black and it was dark at least two hours before it should have been, or would have been, on a normal day. The lightning was dancing in the sky, lighting up the mountains for sometimes as long as ten seconds at a time. There would be one lightning bolt after another and sometimes crossing each other in the sky. It was beautiful, breathtaking, and deadly all at the same time. The thunder roared and was so loud that it was deafening. Lane stood at the mouth of the cave and watched as Anna dried herself and put dry clothes on. Then he felt her presence as she quietly walked up beside him to watch the storm herself. About that time lightning struck close enough that Anna jumped right into Lane and buried her face into his back. Then she turned and walked inside telling him th
