With the holographic map of the Maze in front of him, Beams walked down the first hallway of the Maze. On the map in front of him, he saw the capital ‘B’ representing his Team heading up away from the lower left-hand corner of the Maze, heading to the center. The Maze had dozens and dozens of alternate paths, and without knowing the exact layout of the Maze or what sort of dangers the Maze had, Beams had been forced to pick the straightest, most direct path to the center of the Maze. The reason Beams and his Team were going to the center of the Maze was simple.
