The moment she lay down on the cold operating table, the operating lamp clicked on overhead, the sound echoed in the empty operating room, and the strong light shone on her, as if reflecting her sad and humble life.
The anesthesiologist raised the needle. Penny tilted her head and forced herself to close her eyes. A great sense of despair enveloped her, but she knew she would never run away.
As the anesthetic began to take effect, Penny's eyelids grew heavy and closed completely.
Do not know how long after, a pain-meaning attack on the cerebral cortex, let her deeply aware of their pain.
She said something and tried to open her eyes, but found she had no strength.
The ear spread the doctor's heavy dialogue: "not good, the patient haemorrhage, quick inform family."
Bleeding? Is that dying?
No, I can't. I just got married to Jack today. I can't die.
Penny's consciousness struggles, and then she hears Jack's familiar voice.
His voice remained cool and indifferent before the crucial decision of her life: "What about the massive bleeding? Can't we continue to extract bone marrow?"
The surgeon was stunned for a moment and then said, "Yes, but the patient who provided the bone marrow is afraid that his life will be in danger. She has already regained half her consciousness and if the operation continues she will be awake and in pain."
"She deserves it." Jack said coldly, "The operation continues. If only one can survive, keep Linda!"
The doctor nodded and turned to continue the operation.
As Penny lay on the operating table in grief and pain, she felt the tall shadow over her head leave, taking with it her desperate heart.
Is she dying? She can't believe she ended up dead because of Linda.
How ironic that a wedding anniversary is a death day.
Will Jack think of her one day?
Probably not. After all, he condemned her to death.
Sorrow is greater than heart dead, a person from heart hot to heart cool, probably only need that person a word of time.
A tear quietly rolled down into the temple, disappeared.
The darkness is long, but the dawn always arrives.
Penny wakes up from her nightmare, the sun shining in her eyes, and she realizes, as never before, that she is still alive, but her heart is dead.
From the moment Jack decided to give her up, from the moment he woke up with no one by his side.
Penny sat up half leaning against the bed through gritted teeth, she took the phone from the nightstand and made a call to Jack.
He was the first person she wanted to see after a narrow escape from death.
A few seconds after the call was dialed, it was cut off. Penny put down her cell phone stupidly and got out of bed, grinding her teeth, and went to Linda's room.
The two rooms were not far from each other, but Penny had just come out of surgery and her bones were screaming and aching.
It took Penny ten minutes to get up after falling down. When she arrived at the door of Linda's room, she was already sweaty.
But no physical pain could be more painful than the sight of Jack and his father running around Penny in a lively and attentive manner.
Penny was so excited that she run and fell toward the door of the hospital room, barely holding himself up, but the door opened a lot.
The people inside looked around in surprise, and when they saw Penny, smiles of joy from the successful operation froze on their faces. The atmosphere was stiff and awkward.
With tears still on her face, Penny pursed her lips and stared at Jack. "Jack, come out here. I want to talk to you."
