Chapter Seven It wasn’t much of a welcome. Cameltoe and the other guard hauled them out of the van, battered and bruised from the ride. They were in a large courtyard surrounded by buildings on all sides. It seemed bare and utilitarian. Cassie noted a large metal cage and some wooden frames set in one corner. The cage was human-sized; the frames had ropes and cuffs dangling from them, indicating the purpose they were intended for. Behind her more guards lounged by the yard gate; to her left, a group of half a dozen female prisoners stood listlessly, fastened together by a coffle chain running from one girl’s collar to the next.
