Chapter Seventeen Evie A full two weeks had passed since I went to the coast with Dawson. Autumn had taken hold in the mountains, banishing the lingering heat of summer. The nights were chilly, and the days were getting cooler. The almost oppressive edge of the summer heat was long gone. Dawson had been busy, and so had I. While he worked from dawn until dusk between guiding hikes, construction on the new cabins, and his work for the first responder crew, I stayed busy in the restaurant. No matter how crazy our days were, we spent most of our nights together unless he had an overnight camping trip.
