“Your real parents? Now how will I know where your real parents are, Dulce? I’m really lost here. What are you even talking about?” Maximo asked me with a questioning look on his face.
I won’t lie, he seemed genuinely lost on the subject.
As though everything that was coming out of my mouth was just as new to him as it was to me.
Something about the revelation made me halt, meeting his questioning gaze with silence.
