The door swung open, and Howard stepped into the room. He paused as he took everything in. Sarah had followed her orders exactly—six tall white candlesticks flickered in the center of the table. The place settings were simple—the family's plainest china and crystal. "What's all this?" Howard asked. "I wanted to cook dinner for you," she said. "To say thank you for helping me with the Hanovers."  He raised an eyebrow, "It's a bit romantic, isn't it?" Her cheeks got warm, "The food doesn't look that fancy. I thought the candlelight would make it look better." Concern flickered on Howard's face, but he took his place at the table.
