You Never Said...

Getting clumsily to her feet, Bella blinked her eyes several times waiting for the person before her to disappear, when she opened her eyes she was still there.

"Alice, is that really you, what are you doing here?" Bella asked as a pixie looking girl with black hair, wiped her mouth free of blood residue.

"Of course its me, who else would it be" Alice replied as she walked over to her side. "Speaking of what I'm doing here; isn't it obvious, I'm hunting. I should be asking you what you are doing here"

"I was walking" Bella replied

"Obviously, but I mean to ask, what you are doing in the forest in Seattle, shouldn't you be in Forks or something"

"No, I don't live there anymore" Bella replied. Looking around Bella's eyes widened as a familiar face showed up.

"Alice-" the voice began before. Walking onto the scene was Edward who froze for a brief mili- second. "What is she doing here Alice?" Edward whispered low enough, so only she could hear him.

Alice recalled the memories in her mind and the small conversation they just had. Edward nodded once before closing the distance between himself and the two girls.

"Its almost time to head back" Edward added avoiding Bella's eyes.

"It's rude to purposely ignore people Edward" Bella spoke, her tone cold.

Looking in her direction, Edward nodded his head. "Bella" he said, a faux smile on his face.

Throwing her arms up, Bella glared at him. "You've got to be f*****g kidding me, what are we not friends or something? I mean you are the one that left me Edward, and now you are just going to give me the cold shoulder" Turning around quickly Bella took off in a run towards the hole in the maze.

An hand grabbed her on the arm as she was getting ready to crawl back through to the maze and pulled her to her feet.

"Bella" Edward began "Please don't be mad, it was hard leaving you but I did it for you"

Shrugging him off Bella got to her knees and made the same trip back through the tunnel leading back into the maze. Getting to her feet she was face to face with Edward yet again.

"Edward, you should go" Bella said, before trying to side step around him.

Blocking her patch he frowned, taking a deep breath he opened his mouth before closing it again, finally he spoke. "I still love you"

Bella's face went blank, "I-I-I, Edward, you can't expect me to forget the past, you left. I'm sorry, I have to go" Manuevering around Edward, Bella began retracing her steps back towards the garden.

Appearing before her, Edward blocked her off. "Just one chance" he begged

"You don't understand Edward, I can't"

"Why not" he argued

Blushing, Bella just shook her head before turning and walking off. Bella's heart began beating faster as the strangest feeling of dejavu flooded her. Nearing the mouth of the maze Edward grabbed Bella stopping her.

"I hear it, your heart you are still in love with me, that is why it beats like that"

"Let go Edward"

"I can't leave you again" Edward replied hastily.

Shaking her arm to try and get him off, Bella let out an ear piercing scream. Releasing his grip, Edward looked at Bella terrified.

"I'm so sorry Bella, I didn't mean to" Edward said as he watched her cowering on the ground, cradling her now broken arm.

"Get out of here, NOW!" Bella screamed. "Get away from me, leave!" she yelled , her eyes closed.

A warm hand touched her, jumping, Bella screamed again as a sharp pain seared through her arm. Opening her eyes she stared into a pair of warm brown eyes.

"Whats wrong?" Jake said in a panicky voice, his breath uneven suggested that he ran all the way to her side. "I heard you sceam from the house"

Looking around for any sign of Edward, Bella sighed, wincing slightly when pain shot through her arm again. "I fell" she lied, not wanting to bring back the past. "My arm... I think its broken"

Smirking quietly to himself, Jake helped Bella to her feet. "My clumsy Bella" he teased gently as he helped her over to the truck.

"Where are we going?" Bella snapped

"Hospital, your arm needs to be examined if you think its broken." Jake replied.

Bella instantly regretted her injury, and felt angry towards Edward. It was his fault that she was having to go to the emergency room.

Giving in Bella allowed Jake to help her into the truck before they headed off towards the ER.

"Bella" Jake began "I don't want you wandering into the forest here."

"I-" Bella began.

"The maze is put there to keep mountain lions and what not off the property"

"Okay" Bella murmered "I won't go out there"

Pulling up outside the hospital, Jake let Bella out to go and check herself in while he parked.

"Isabella Swan" a nurse called within 3 minutes of her signing in.

Getting to her feet Bella walked towards the nurse. "Its Bella"

"We will put you in exam room 4, just right here" The nurse said in a faux cheery voice.

Following the nurse she stopped before entering the room and sitting down on the chair that was the farthest from the gurny.

"Bella?" Jake called as he was walking into the room "Sorry, the parking lot was packed so I had to park around the block.

"I don't care as long as you are here." A doctor entered the stopping as he caught sight of Bella. "Carlisle?" Bella whispered, apparently surprised at his appearance. "What are you doing here?"

"I work here" he spoke. Crossing the room he took Bella's hand into his own, gazing at her arm he gently rubbed it once before he looked at her. "Your arm is broken, I'm going to have to get some xrays to determine how and where exactly the break is." Carlisle said.

"I believe Xray 2 is open, lets go and get some pictures taken" Carlisle said helping Bella to her feet.

Following Carlisle, Bella went through 3 doors before they made it to the destination. Entering the room, Bella sat on a stool with her arm perched out before her, lying under a large machine. Hold still he murmered, adjusting Bella's arm for the scan.

A small click sounded and then a beep. 5 mintues later Bella and Carlisle headed back towards her room.

"I'm going to go and get your xrays and have a look at them, then I will be right back and we will put you in a cast."

Sulking at the thought of having to wear a bulky colored shell, Bella walked over and sat beside Jake.

"Did you know Carlisle worked here?" Bella asked curiously.

"No, I thought the leeches left the state and went up to Canada or Alaska" Jake replied. "You don't think, you-know-who is back do you?"

"Who Voldermort?" Bella joked.

"Who is that?" Jake asked a bit confused.

Shrugging her shoulders Bella shook her head. "Voldermort, its this evil wizard in this book I read once before"

"You know who I'm talking about" Jake added "You don't think Edward is back do you?"

Bella shrugged her shoulders again.

"You know something don't you Bella?"

Before she could open her mouth, Carlisle entered the room and posted the xrays up. "Your radius and ulna are completely shattered, you are going to need reconstructive surgery." Carlisle replied.

"You're joking"

"I'm serious" Carlisle said as he began writing something ona clip board. "What happened to you anyways?" Carlisle questioned

"She fell doctor" Jake replied

Shaking his head, Carlisle looked curiously between Jacob and Bella. "This kind of injury doesn't come from a fall. Did someone do this to you?" Carlisle asked, eyeing Jake suspiciously.

"Honest to God, Bella told me she fell" Jake snapped, catching on that Carlisle was now suspecting him of harming her.

"I didn't fall, and Jake didn't do it." Pausing Bella knew that Jake would be furious, but he would have eventually found out, so she acknowledge that it would be better if she told him herself. "Edward did it" Feeling Jake tense up beside her Bella ignored it and continued. "He grabbed me too hard."

Carlisles eyes widened, muttering something under his breath he kept a close eye on Bella. Only when the door opened did his attention move else where.

Edward entered the room and stopped when he saw the scene before him.

"Bella says you did this to her arm" Carlisle questioned.

Before Edward could defend himself and explain Jake rose to his feet. "What were you doing grabbing my fiance like that" Jake growled.

"I didn't mean to hurt her" Edward replied as he looked at the ground. "Your fiance?" He then questioned, his head snapping up immeadiately. Looking to Bella he shook his head. "You never told me you were getting married."

"I haven't seen you in over 4 years, I didn't think I should have to." Bella mumbled.

"Okay, we can all chat and reminese later. Right now Miss Swan needs to get into surgery, one wrong move and her broken bones could cut into a blood vein or artery." Carlisle said, his voice full of worry.

Getting up Bella got onto the cot, with the help of Jake.

"I'll see you after the surgery" Jake whispered, kissing her on the lips.

"Promise me you will be here when I'm done"

"I promise." Jake said, holding her eye contact.

Bella laid back and closed her eyes as they wheeled her from the room, towards the operating room. Laying under bright lights Bella watched as Carlisle moved around prepping for the surgery.

"You might feel a little prick, but thats just me inserting an IV, you'll start feeling tired so just count backwards from 10"

Closing her eyes again Bella took a deep breath, yawning once she began counting down. Before she reached 5 she fell into a deep slumber.

"Hand me scalple number 3 please." Carlisle told his assistant while he was covering her arm with iodine. Bringing the scalple down in one swift, fluid motion Carlisle watched as her arm began to bleed.
