"But I love you, Scott!"
Scott glares at Emil, spite in his eyes. "Yet you cheated on me with my little brother, Emil. My little brother! Jeez! What the f**k is wrong with you! You must be crazy!"
"Yeah I'm crazy! I'm crazy about you, Scott!"
"So crazy you had to f**k my brother in the ass! That's definitely crazy, Emil!!!"
Emil moves closer toward him and takes his hand.
"Hey… I know what I did was not right but please… Please for the sake of our relationship, please forgive me. All the years we've been together… The memories we've shared, you can't just throw that away-"
Scott glares at Emil. "Don't you think you're the one that threw all those years together away when you cheated on me with my brother? You didn't even think about us when you did it!"
"And I said I'm sorry!" Emil blurts out. "I'm sorry, Scott! There's no excuse, I admit it and I'm sorry!"
Emil moves so close to Scott, looking him in the eye. Scott bends to kiss him when Emil steps back.
"f**k! I can't do this!"
Claps and cheers erupt in every corner of the classroom. Emil and Scott just did an acting demonstration in front of the class, as instructed by the professor.
The performance was amazing and everyone seems to have enjoyed it except dear professor Phillip.
"The performance was okay," he says in an unsatisfied manner. "I love your acting, Scott. You dived deep into the character unlike Emily here!"
Emil glares at him. "My name is Emil, professor."
The professor ignores him and turns to look at the class.
"Did anyone see what was wrong in the performance."
No one dares to lift their hand.
"Okay," The professor clears his throat. "So I'll tell you what is wrong with the performance. Dear Emily here, decided to judge the character. As an actor, you don't judge the character you play. You don't cringe or feel disgusted at what your character does. But he did. That's why he stepped back when it was time to kiss Scott!"
" I was uncomfortable! " Emil blurts out. " I have never kissed a man before. "
" You're an actor. If your character is gay, then you should become gay… "
The professor moves towards Emil, taps his shoulders and smiles cockily at him.
" Now kiss Scott! "
Emil scoffs, scowling at the professor then he makes a dramatic walk back to his locker.
The class is enjoying the free drama.
"I swear I want to kill this guy!" Emil whispers in my ear.
It's clear the professor wants to get back at Emil for the minor bruises on his face. He continues trying to get under his skin.
"Hey young man, can you please leave my class?"
Emil glances around the class.
"I'm talking to you, Mr. Emil."
Emil takes his backpack, hanging on the chair and grins broadly,
"Thankyou for pronouncing my name right, sir!"
"I don't want to see you in my class again, young man!"
But Emil doesn't seem to care.
He walks out of the class, whistling and slams the door.
¦¦¦¦
"That little professor is going to be a real problem!"
Emil rants that day at the cafeteria when the class is over. He's having lemon-biscuit flavored yogurt and I'm having apple juice. As always.
"I mean, who the f**k does he think he is to kick me out of class?"
"Your lecturer."
He rolls his eyes as he sips on his yogurt. "And who the f**k employed him? Who the f**k employs someone with so many bruises and swells on their face? I mean, were they blind?"
I chuckle as I watch him keep rambling about the stupid processor.
But he's right.
The professor CLEARLY doesn't like Emil and I after all that went down at the restaurant yesterday. Now he has his golden chance to get revenge.
"Or should I kill him?" Emil whispers as he leans over the table.
"Ugh! You can't do that!"
"Dare me!"
"Plus, if you kill him, that means you'll spend the rest of your days on earth behind bars."
"As long as you come to visit me in prison with the toasted bread and eggs you made today, I'll be just fine," he winks.
I giggle. "You're nuts!"
"Oh God! Did you see how hot that professor looks!!! He must have come from mercury!"
"And his body! God! That body!"
"The beird is it for me! And oh lord have mercy! Those eyes!"
Emil and I hear three ladies gushing about the new professor, Phillip Ark, behind our table.
He rolls his eyes so hard and so long that I start laughing.
The ladies stand up and walk out of the Café still gushing about the new professor.
" What's wrong with you girls though!" he grumbles. "Those bimbos think that egg-looking piece of s**t is hot!!! I mean, have they met me! Have they seen my eyes and my body and my looks!"
I roll my eyes, laughing. "b***h, you should really get over yourself!"
"The day I get over myself is the day my exes get over me. Which is never gonna happen," he jokes.
I burst out a laugh. "You have the most ridiculous, silly jokes!"
"Plus, I'm funny. Jeez! I'm the perfect package."
God! My eyes will fall from the amount of times he makes me roll them.
"But seriously, who would think that prick with an asshole on the face is hot?"
"I thought he was handsome when I first met him!"
"What!!!"
"Feelings aside, that guy is hot!"
He covers his ears till I stop talking.
"I didn't know hot stands for ugly till today… Despite getting kicked out of class, Atleast I learnt something today."
Kim enters the cafeteria, her head facing down.
She doesn't make eye contact with us.
I'm kinda feeling bad for how I reacted last night. Maybe I blew things out of proportion…
But for some reason, I just can't bring myself to walk to her and say 'sorry'.
She sits alone at the table in the far corner.
"This silent treatment thing is starting to get weird," says Emil. "You guys should Definitely -"
"You're so stubborn Ari!" Kim Snaps behind Emil.
How she got to our table so fast, I can't figure out.
"I hate that in this friendship, I have to be the only one to say sorry first after we have a fight! Every time!"
I smile at her and stand to hug her warmly.
"I'm sorry, Kim."
¦¦¦¦
I step out of Emil's car first, already dressed in uniform. Kim is already dressed up too. Emil rushes to the dressing room to change quick.
The lady's changing room.
One of these days, a lady is going to complain about this weird behavior and I just can't wait!!!
Kim, Emil and I are wiping tables when Kim suddenly asks,
"So, Emil, why didn't you kiss Scott today in class?"
"I don't know… I just couldn't," he says. "I felt uncomfortable."
"So it's okay for you to NOT kiss someone when you feel uncomfortable but it's not okay for Ansel Rock to feel uncomfortable and not kiss someone?"
I groan and stop to stare at her. "Are you really bringing this up again? I thought we were done with this whole 'Ansel' topic?"
"No. I'm just thinking out loud. You were not mad that Emil didn't kiss Scott because he felt 'uncomfortable'. But you were mad when Ansel didn't kiss you. What if he also felt uncomfortable?"
"That's different," Emil defends. "First, Ansel was not asked to kiss a gay man when he's not gay. Second, when I refused to kiss Scott, I didn't ask for another man that I could kiss. That would be humiliating to Scott. The same way it was humiliating to Ari."
I smile at Emil.
I'm quite surprised that Kim is still going on about this.
I mean, it's over and done with for me!
I never want to see that Ansel's face again.
Kim can kiss him all she wants in the future for all I care. She keeps defending him and yes, I get she has an enormous crash on him. But I'm also her friend from high school.
Customers start to fill the tables that night and the three of us disperse to serve all the customers.
I'm taking two bottles of beer to take to a cute couple when Kim stops me.
"Guess what?"
"Yeah?"
"There's this creepy guy that wants to be served by you. And only you."
Kim points at him.
He looks creepy for real.
He has this black cap and a black jacket with his hands dug in his pockets.
"What if he's a serial killer and he ends up stabbing me to death?"
Kim chuckles. "Atleast I'll inherit your hair and looks."
I shake my head, laughing as I head to the table.
The guy looks up at me and my Jaw drops.
I stare in shock.
Those luminous, intense brown eyes.
I swallow hard, trying to find my voice.
"Ansel?"
