The sweat was pouring down her face, making streaks through the grease and dirt “You have to,” said Alec sternly. “We must reach the mountains as quickly as possible.” “I cannot! I cannot!” she cried, dragging her legs in weariness and weighed down by the heavy folds of her disguise. Alec reached out and took hold of her arm, holding it above the elbow in a fierce almost cruel grip. “Hurry,” he urged her sternly.
