Elyssa stood, gasping in shock with her fingers tightly curled around a thick log. She couldn’t believe she did it. Hit the beta wolf and knocked him into oblivion. She was scared at first, but thereafter, her lips widened to a victorious smile. It felt damn good to finally knock out one of the creatures that have been craving to hurt her.
“Thank you,” Barristan breathed out heavily, his hands still splayed against the ground, his crimson blood dripping to form a small pool. “You’ve saved my life. Help me up,” he extended his hands but Elyssa recoiled in fear.
