In this story, every creature has a true mate, but demons can force their own mate bond onto unmated creatures that are of age. If a demon forced their bond on to someone, that person would be forced to reject their true mate. Or both them and their mate would die due to their life force being consumed by the demon that marked them.
*All creatures (Except for bad demons) will be able to find their mate once they and their mates both come of age of 18 years old.* All creatures may take someone as a chosen mate. A chosen mate can form the mate bond with someone if the connection between them is strong.
Tigers, dragons, and wolves all find their mate by following their scent, but the way they confirm their mates are different.
1) Tigers can only confirm who their true mate is with direct eye contact with them.
2) Wolves can only confirm their mate, by feeling sparks whenever they come in contact with their mate’s skin.
3) Dragons can only confirm their mate with a kiss. It doesn’t matter how the dragon kisses them (hand, cheek, lips) as long as the dragon’s lips make contact with the other’s skin.
4) Humans will feel a pull in their heart and soul, but unless they are mated to a supernatural being (Tiger, dragon, wolf, or even a demon) the only way to confirm their mates is by sleeping with them.
5) Demons also have true mates, but only if they wait for them. Demons that successfully force their bond on another that isn’t their true mate, will lose the chance to have their own true mate as well. Once a demon’s true mate comes of age. Their life force will lead them to their mate like a GPS tracker. Demons live practically forever, since time can not kill a demon, so they will have to make choices when they find their true mate.
*Sync their time with their mate, so when their mate dies they die with them.
*Share their life force with their mate and give them immortality to live with them forever. This immortality is only true for time itself. The demon and their mate could still be killed by weapons or poison.
