Prince Andrew’s POV
“Andrew!! WAKE UP!” I heard Ian before I felt him land right on my stomach. I groaned in pain. Having a 12 year old jumping on you is not a pleasant way to wake up. “What the hell dude?!” I yelled as I rolled him off me. “You overslept. The meeting is going to start soon. Plus it’s big sis’s birthday.” Ian wiggled his eyebrows when he reminded me of what today was. ‘We would never forget our Angel’s birthday.’ Aztec said in my head. I jumped out of bed and dressed. “Hey, don't forget your crown. It is an official meeting.” Ian said as he chased me down the hall with my crown in his hands.
I rolled my eyes. I never liked wearing it around my angel. She was always proper when I had it on. I grabbed it, but didn’t put it on. Halfway to the throne room I was hit with a sweet scent of jasmine and sweet peas. ‘MATE!’ Aztec howled in delight. The scent was coming from the throne room.
Once we got to the door we heard a commotion. We peaked in and mine and Ian’s family were in silver chains and gagged. All except for Serafina. I looked at Serafina and felt the mate bond pull. She looked even more beautiful than ever. Almost as if she was glowing. The unknown man and woman in the throne room were threatening not only my family, but my mate. To say Aztec and I were pissed was an understatement.
The woman’s voice broke me from my thoughts. “You and your sisters are the first and only triplet female ever born into the Owens blood line. You are the human, little princess. Princess Serafina Owens, is your true name and title. Now come with us or would you rather I kill these worthless mutts.” Ian and I were shocked.
Serafina was a human? She threatened my family. I was about to rush in there, when Ian grabbed me. “Hold on.” Before I could ask, the metallic scent of blood hit my nose. I snapped back to the throne room and saw Serafina biting her own hand and making it bleed. Then she whipped her arms around and was flinging rocks at the woman and made her fly back away from her. Then branches came through the windows to whip and wrap around those other people. The woman seemed unimpressed and engulfed the branches in flames.
“Do you honestly think they care about you? You are nothing more than a human. You are not one of them.” ‘Human or not, Andrew. She is our mate. She belongs to us.’ Aztec growled in my mind. ‘Yeah. I have loved her since I was a kid. Her being human changes nothing to me.’ “That is still my big sister. That b***h can’t just say that we don't love her. She is and forever will be family.” Ian whispered to me. I nodded and turned back to the room. What I saw next had me seeing red.
The unknown man in the room had grabbed Serafina by her neck and pinned her to the wall. “You smell delicious. I think I will take you and your powers for myself. You will be my mate and bride.” He said. I saw that his grip was really tight around Serafina’s neck as his fangs were extended to mark her by force.
I couldn’t stand by anymore. I rushed in and ripped him off my angel, my mate. “GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY MATE YOU BASTARD!!!” Aztec and I roared at the same time, making my voice deeper than normal. He snarled at me, but the woman looked from me to Serafina before she thought it was time to retreat and left before he and I could fight. ‘We will kill him the next time we see that bastard. He touched what is ours.’ Aztec snarled.
I turned to see Serafina’s family wrapping her in a big hug. Serafina was truly perfect in every way. She wasn’t hurt or mad that her parents never told her that she was found on their doorstep. In fact the only thing she seemed confused about was me calling her my mate.
‘Seriously? Out of everything that happened to her today… her being my mate is the only thing that confused her?’ I grumbled to Aztec. He laughed if you could call it that, ‘Well this would be the first time a shifter and a human have ever been mated to each other.’ Yeah, that was true. This would be the first time anyone has seen a wolf mated to something other than another wolf, and a human no less.
I just shrugged. “It doesn’t matter to me, besides I can smell you. Human or wolf. You are mine.” I said, claiming her infront of everyone. I saw her shiver with delight. I like how I affected her and now I can be more open with my feelings. Then Uncle Roland growled at me saying. “She is my baby girl. Hurt her in any way and you're a dead man walking, Andrew Claymore!”
I nodded in understanding that he was still her father, regardless of the lack of blood relations. I held out my hand so I could pull her close to me. She wiggled out of her family’s embrace and came over to me. She slowly laid her hand in mine and we both felt the sparks on the bond through our skin. I could see it startled her so before she could pull away, I yanked her into my arms.
“See? Only the true mate of a wolf would feel the sparks of the bond through the skin like that.” I said, then I buried my face in the crook of her neck and inhaled deeply and purred. Her scent was heaven on earth for me. “You are mine, and I am yours, forever.” I whispered to her. I felt her relax in my arms and rub her cheek against the side of my head. I couldn’t hold back anymore. I lifted my head and crashed my lips onto hers. This being not only my first kiss, but my last one as she has been the only woman in my heart since we were children.
She seemed surprised by my sudden kiss, but after a second she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me closer to her. Aztec purred loudly in my head, while I snaked my arms around her waist. He and I have been waiting for forever to kiss these full and delicious lips. When I pulled back she was blushing a deep crimson red that looked stunning with her deep green eyes.
My father pretended to cough in order to draw our attention from each other. “So Serafina, sweetheart, what do you want to do about this prophecy? The one that witch, Victoria, said about you and your sisters.” He asked her. “I heard about the sisters, btu what prophecy?” I asked her. Serafina clung to me as she thought. I saw her hand still bleeding, so I tore off a bit of my shirt and wrapped up her hand.
“I’m not 100% sure if what Victoria said is true, but I did have a strange dream last night.” Serafina said. “What happened in your dream, sweetheart?” Aunt Maria asked her. “I heard a voice telling me to find my sisters and fulfill our destiny. Also to unite the five kingdoms as one. Then it showed me the night that Mama found me after my birth father left me on her doorstep that stormy night.” She answered.
Serafina looked up to Uncle Roland and Aunt Maria. “I honestly don't know what to think about it. If finding my sisters brings peace to not only Alavan, but the other kingdoms as well I am willing to try. The only problem is I have no Idea where to even begin to look.” she said, looking back down to the ground.
“I can help you with that, Princess Serafina.” A woman’s voice startled all of us and we snapped our heads back to the door. There stood a petite woman with raven black hair and deep violet eyes standing before us. “Who the hell are you?!” my father growled, standing between this woman and us. Serafina looked at her as if she knew her from somewhere.
Then she pointed to the woman. “You are the woman that teleported my birth father away after he left me on my parent’s doorstep.” She said. She smiled at me and politely bowed her head. “Yes, I am, your highness. My name is Luna. I am the royal sorceress for the Kingdom of Lumus. I have served the royal family for centuries and I have come to start Princess Serafina on her destined path.” she calmly said.
Serafina walked out of my arms and stood in front of us facing this sorceress. “What is this prophecy really about Miss. Luna?” Luna raised her head and smiled at her. “Before that I must say that you have grown as beautiful as your mother and are as responsible as your father.”
Serafina looked a bit uncomfortable talking about the people that left her as a baby. Luna seems to have seen it as well and moved on. “The prophecy states that with the power of you, your two younger sisters, and the strength of all three of your mates. You will bring everlasting peace to all the kingdoms, but you must be marked by your true mates.” Luna began to explain.
“The demon king has sons and now that you three have come of age, your scents will be like an overpowering drug to them. If they mark even one of you or kill you or your mates, then the lands will fall into the fires of war and death.” Luna said. Serafina stiffened and talked about a tough choice. She either finds her birth siblings, along with their true mates or let all the kingdoms be destroyed in an all out war.
Serafina sighed and looked towards her parents and mine, then turned back to Luna. “I will look for my sisters, but once we are together what do we do then?” Tilting her head. Luna smiled “Once you have found your sisters, Princess Aurora Owens and Princess Vivien Owens, and their mates, the three of you need to be marked by your mates.” Serafina glanced at me and blushed. I smirked at her.
“You will start by finding your sister, Aurora, in the kingdom of the tigers, Glacius, and Vivien in the dragon kingdom of Magmis.” Luna instructed and Serafina nodded. “Once you have found them and their mates, you will then need to come to Lumus and find where your birth parents are hidden.” She said. “They are hidden in Lumus? How could they have survived all this time with Drakgo ruling?” I asked.
“I used a very complicated spell to hide them for not only their safety but for the princesses. The amulets around your next along with your sisters are the key to breaking the spell, but I am afraid this is all I can say for now. Your choices you have made thus far and in the future will determine if we win this war before it begins or perish within its flames.” She said. Serafina nodded and Luna bowed to us and snapped her fingers. Then she was gone.
“I will leave as soon as I pack some stuff.” I whipped my head towards her, with wide eyes. “You’re crazy if you think I am letting you go all on your own, Angel.” I said with a sharp tone. She turned back to me. “You can not come, Andrew. You just have to mark me. I don’t know what dangers I will face while I search for my sisters, and I can not put Alavan at risk. You are the next king and the only heir to the throne. If something happened to you, the kingdom would be left without an heir and could fall into chaos.” She said matter of factly.
I growled lowly in my throat. What she said is true. Uncle Roland cleared his throat to interrupt us. “That may be true Serafina, but once a wolf finds their mate it is near impossible to let them travel like this alone.” “Or to be apart for long periods of time.” Dad added. Serafina and I looked at each other then back at them. “But Papa, he can’t come. I am to be his shadow, not the other way around.” Her voice was a bit worried. She was the kind of girl that always tried to carry everything on her own shoulders. She would rather be crushed by the weight of the task than burden someone else for help.
“Well I say that if Andrew wants to be a real king someday, then he will go with Serafina and protect her like a real man should.” Uncle Tom said in a teasing tone. I growled at him. He smirked at us and Serafina whipped her head to my parents. “You can’t let him come with me. I don’t want anything to happen to him.” She sounded like her heart was tearing in two, mine was as well.
“Sweetheart, this is how wolves are, especially high rank wolves like your father, Tom, and Andrew. When we find our mates, their burdens become ours to carry as well. If you are going to risk your life for not just for Alavan, but for the kingdoms of Magmis and Glacius, then as the next king Andrew should go with you.” Dad said. I pulled Serafina towards me and wrapped my arms around her. “Even if you try to sneak off without me Angel, then Aztec and I sniff you out and hunt you down. We will go wherever you go until the day we die.”
“Serafina, if anything where to happen to you while you look for your sisters, then it would kill Andrew even more. Wolves protect their own and mate for life. You are his one and only shot of living.” My mother said. She seems to finally give up. “Fine, I guess Andrew and I will be leaving at first light tomorrow to find Aurora and Vivien.” I hugged her tighter as everyone smiled at us.
Uncle Roland and Aunt Maria came over to us. “Even if we don’t share the same blood, Serafina, always remember that you will always be our precious little girl. Please come back safe and sound.” Aunt Maria said with tears in her eyes. Serafina smiled and jumped into her parents arms. “Don’t worry mama, papa. I’ll find my little sisters and once this is all over. We can all be together with a bigger family together.” she said as she squeezed her parents tight. “That’s my girl.” Uncle Roland chuckled.
I went over to hug my parents as Serafina began hugging Ian and Uncle Tom. “Now you take care of your mate, mister. If she comes home with a single scratch, then I’ll take you over my knee like when you were a pup.” Mom playfully scolded. “Don’t worry Mom, Dad. I won’t let anything happen to her. Once we get home we can get married and have pups of our own.” I smiled over at her.
Dad laughs and slaps his hand on my shoulder. “Welcome to the club my boy.” he said. I turned to look at him. “What club?” He just smirked and said. “The whipped club, no male can resist being completely whipped by just looking at his mate.” I was surprised at first but then I thought about it.
Yeah, both Aztec and I were whipped. Have been since I first saw her all those years ago. I couldn’t see us breathing without Serafina by our side, and the thought of her becoming big and round with our pup one day left me a bit too excited. ‘She is going to be the death of us.’ I said to Aztec as I felt my pants become pretty tight.
‘Yes, but a sweet death it would be.’ He replied and I rolled my eyes. “Come on Andrew. We need to pack for our trip to Glacius. We are going to find my sister Aurora first.” Serafina called as she started to head to her room. I smiled and ran after her. Tomorrow our journey begins down the road of our destiny.
