Chapter One
I sat in the hotel bar, Nervous as hell! My family and I were only about a week or so into our summer vacation, but, I already had my summer romance on the go. I wanted... To be honest, I wasn't sure what I wanted. I wanted the typical summer love like Danny and Sandy or Baby and Johnny...but I wasn't in a rush to have s*x.
My friends back home would often brag about how they f****d this guy or that guy, and..if I remember correctly, One was even bragging about how she was sleeping with her sister's boyfriend. My point is, I was the virgin of the group and I wasn't so sure how quickily I wanted to lose that title.
I was a typical 17 High school senior, but... I wanted to love. Not lust.
Fast forward to now, and I was eagerly waiting for Brent.
A handsome 20-year-old guy that I had been chatting to online. When my parents told me and my younger brother about how we would be coming on holiday to Hawaii, you can imagine my excitement, and already knowing I wanted my ''Summer Romance'', I started looking at dating sites, slightly lying about my age, to see if there was someone I could get to know ahead of time, So that I could meet up with them while I was here.
There were a few cute guys, Some lost interest pretty quickily when they found out my age, Some didn't. One of those ''some''were Brent.
At first, it started off innocent, just a message or two here and there, and over time it went from that to... texting almost constantly, Skyping, talking on the phone and now... Meeting in person.
I was nervous, but... Not scared. I knew he was the guy in the photos because I had made sure that we video chatted quite often.
I looked down at the drink in front of me and started fiddling with the straw, I hadn't bothered trying to ask for an alcoholic drink, but I didn't have my fake ID on me this evening, and I'd just extremely embarrassed if they wanted proof of age.
So, Sat here, With a diet coke, I waited... and waited... And waited.
'Sorry I'm on my way, Promise. I can't wait to see you, I just had a few problems with my car so I'm having to walk. I'll be there soon! Xx'
I re-read the text message over and over again, Feeling butterflies in my stomach.
Currently, He was 45 minutes late, and while I didn't want to admit it...My excitement was starting to fade.
'If you're not here soon, We can have a rain check'. As quickily as I wrote the message I deleted it again. I really did like Brent, So I didn't want to burn this bridge with him.
'How long are you going to be?' Again, I deleted the message and let out a sigh. I didn't know what to say that wouldn't come across as... bitchy.
Putting my phone down on the bar, I put the straw in my mouth and took a small drink. I was in my own little world with my own little thoughts, So completely not paying attention, that I didn't even see someone sit down in the seat next to me until they called the bartender over and ordered a drink.
Keeping my eyes down, I let out another sigh as I took another big sip of my coke.
'I hope that big sigh isn't for my lateness'. I froze. Not sure what to do.
Swallowing the mouth full I had, Hoping that I wasn't noisy doing so, I slowly turned my head to look at him.
Relief instantly hit me the second I saw his piercing blue eyes. It was him. He was really here. I didn't have to look through my computer screen to see him anymore.
'No... No, I-I..' i was lost for words. He was way hotter than his photos. 'It wasn't'. I managed to Croake out, but he just smiled at me.
'Are you OK?'
'Yeah, yeah, I'm totally fine'. I mentally slapped myself, I was blowing this insanely. 'I'm sorry, I'm just a little nervous'. He smiled at me and shook his head.
'Don't worry about it, Can I get you a drink to apologise for being so late?'
'You don't have too'.
'It's my pleasure'. Feeling the butterflies attacking my stomach, even more, I asked for what I wanted, deciding to test the water and asked for a Red wine before excusing myself to go to the bathroom.
I needed a few minutes to pull myself together.
When I came back, He was no longer sat at the bar, Instead, He was sat in a booth with our drinks, waiting. I couldn't help but smile as I walked over to him.
For the first time, Taking in his appearance for the evening. He was wearing a black leather jacket that he still hadn't taken off, despite the fact it was boiling this evening, inside the hotel and out. Under it, he wore a black button up shirt and Black skinny jeans and boots to match.
It was a nice outfit, but a strange choice for a Hawaii summer evening...
Either way, As soon as he looked up and our eyes met, Excitement bubbled up inside me and I quickened my pace, heading towards the booth.
Our evening pretty much went from there. We had dinner and some more drinks and I was starting to feel a little drunk, but it just added to the fun and excitement. I didn't feel nervous anymore and because of that and the alcohol, I was able to really relax.
Paying for the bill, Brent stood up.
Sadness hit me, I didn't want the evening to be over yet.
'Do you want to go for a walk along the beach?' He asked. I nodded, eagerly and we stood and left the hotel. It wasn't late, Only about 10pm-ish, but the beach was pretty empty, which was nice, It gave us some more privacy.
Sitting down on the bench, overlooking the ocean, I sighed happily. Brents' hand crept over and he rested it down on my knee, squeezing it slightly.
I looked up at him, It was.. Strange... At that moment, My mind started feeling really fuzzy, and I suddenly started feeling sick.
Something wasn't right.
'B-Brent... I don't f-feel so good'. I mumbled, Blinking a few times, trying to get my vision to stop blurring.
'Are you Ok?' He asked, sounding genuinely worried. I shook my head.
'No, I need to get back to the hotel'. He nodded.
'Of course'. He stood up and helped me to my feet. As soon as I was stood up, I stumbled and almost fell over again, but Brent managed to catch me. I tried to say thank you, but it was like my brain couldn't remember how to talk.
He helped me stumble back down the street from the beach, His tight grip on my waist so I wouldn't fall over. My head was killing me, I looked up but everything was spinning so fast, It made me feel sick.
'Here, Let's stop for a minute'. I heard him say as he pulled me into an alleyway.
It was dark and smelly, and I didn't want too. I just wanted to get back to the Hotel. I tried to say that, but I still couldn't speak.
Walking further and further down the hallway and away from the light of the main street, I had a weird feeling in my stomach... the feeling of danger.
What was going on?
And then it happened... He put me down on the filthy floor and climbed on top of me...
