Owen My eyes were closed but my ears were listening intently to the news about me that the male flight attendant was watching on his phone while peeking at me from the corner of his eyes. My body was leaning back in the seat, resting. The attendant was new, this was the first time he had met me in person. "John," I called one of my men who knew what he needed to do. In the next second the phone was snatched away from the flight attendant along with his earbuds. He was startled and had a horrified expression on his face at having been caught even though he had been using earbuds. "I am so sorry sir. I am really sorry, it will never happen again," he apologized immediately, falling to his knees in the next second thinking that he was going to be fired. John looked at me but I just waved my hand in the air while my eyes closed once again. With one last apology he hurriedly left. "Alpha we have arrived," after a few minutes he informed me that we had landed. I allowed my eyes to be open as my hands quickly reached for my coat. Descending the stairs, my eyes turned to my Gamma as he waited for me impatiently, Robin. He had already been waiting for me to arrive for half an hour. "Alpha," he and other pack members bowed their heads but I did not allow my legs to even slow their gait. "Report," I ordered. Robin fell in beside me but the others were following not too far behind us. "We found this at the hospital where the child was born," he handed me a file with some information in it. The car was parked a few meters away but I had no patience to read this file in the car so I looked over at him while we walked. "The baby was born in that hospital a year ago…” Robin began to speak again. “The woman's name is Emma Jones. As soon as we gained this information we started following her, we witnessed her entering a pack, the Silver Moon pack," I had been searching for this woman and my child for close to two years now. When my men finally found her a few hours ago I left an important meeting, I had dropped all of my other business to get here as quickly as possible. I came here for my child! "Where is my son now?" I handed the file back to Robin. "Something strange has happened. Our man did not enter the pack but I have received information that the female who entered with the child never left but another female has exited the pack with your son and some luggage. Our men are tracking her closely without her knowledge, she is currently near a bus station," I got into the car and started to drive on my own. I knew this city quite well so I was aware of my destination and where I would find my son. I had no f*****g idea who the unknown female was that had stolen my child but I was not going to let her have what belonged to me. *** I had no f*****g idea that this child thief would be so beautiful. Thanks to the reporters showing up I was trapped in this broken phone booth but Due to my height my face was so close to her that I was able to inhale her provocatively alluring smell, a combination of jasmine and the ocean. My heart was beating so fast as I found her smell so familiar. Where and when had I smelled it before? Was it just a misunderstanding on my part? She was blinking her big chocolaty brown eyes up at me as our proximity was really tormenting me. She had a small face with smooth milk-like skin. I shifted my body a little and my nose brushed her hair. She flinched slightly, appearing even more beautiful when her innocent eyes turned into a sharp eyed gaze. She cradled my son as if he were her own like she was continually chanting. My eyes went from her hands then back to her face. This little child thief must be around twenty but she was good at acting. If my men had not told me that some other female had exited the pack with my son I would have believed that she was the mother of my son. The way she had pushed my Gamma, Robin, not letting him take my son away, was an aggressive move like one a mother would make protecting her baby with her life. But I was not going to fall into the trap of her innocence. Her and mine eyes locked as we both kissed Adam’s head. He did not cry but I was not happy that my son was so attached to her! “As soon as the reporters leave you will handover my son to me and leave,” I informed her of what she needed to do but a frown formed on her little face that made me aware of even more details on her beautiful face. “Over my dead body!” She whispered back holding fire in her eyes. I could see she hated me, she had not liked when I kissed my son, she did not even want my shadow to brush against him. Rage quickened my blood. She had not even bothered to hide all of this from her eyes, like she wanted me to know how she felt about me. I pulled her out of the booth when Robin mind linked me about the reporters’ departure. She looked so innocent but her tongue was so sharp. I had been bearing her disobedience and stubbornness for long enough as she was a little thief but now it would come to an end. I had to show her who she was dealing with, who she had stole, and claimed as hers was not a f*****g doll but my son that I would snatch back. “AAHHH.! What are you doing? You are hurting me,” she tried to pull her arm back but I grabbed her more tightly. All of my pack members were watching as she was yelling, hitting my arms trying to free herself. I pushed her into my car. She was startled before she opened her eyes, I snatched my son from her arms. “Adam,” she called my son Adam. Oh, so she had named him too! She looked at me in utter disbelief at how easily I had taken my son back. “Give my son back!” She screamed, attacking me. I simply passed my son to Robin with one hand before using the other to stop this she-wolf who was trying to reach my child. I just pulled her back by her tiny waist. “Don't touch him!” I shouted. She hissed in pain but her eyes were fixed on Adam. I would also call him Adam for now, until I had the time to make a decision on his name. “Give him back to me. He is not feeling well. He is sick. He needs me,” she cried, panicking, moving closer to Robin. She was beyond stubborn! I blocked her path using my big body not letting her get close to Adam. “Don't you understand that I have been talking to you nicely! I will take care of my son. He is just sleeping now so don't try to trick me. I do not need your help to raise him or with anything. So just go away, I never want to see you in front of me again,” this would be the last time that I warned her, I turned to take Adam from Robin. “Alpha, he looks like you,” Robin said, it was the truth. He was a miniature version of me. I badly wanted to see his beautiful eyes. As I was about to take him in my arms she came running again trying to take him from me. My wolf and I both became aggressive, over protective of our son. I could not control my anger as I pushed her to the ground. I had reached my breaking point. She screamed as her elbow hit the pavement. She hissed in pain. When her hurt eyes looked up at me she could see my wolf on the surface as now I was not willing to accept her stunt. “Touch my son again and I will forget that you are a female! I swear that I will kill you,” I warned her but she just growled at me. She got up from the ground and the next thingI knew I felt the sharp sting of a slap on my cheek. I closed my eyes tightly as I clutched my hands at my sides. No one had ever slapped me except for her! Robin and all of my other men growled in anger. They were ready to attack her but I showed them my palm holding them in their places. “How dare you!” I growled, grabbing her by her hair and pulling her closer to my face. She did not even flinch as her gaze bore deep into my eyes without a blink. “Don't act like a father! It does not suit you,” her words stabbed my heart like she had cursed me. How could she say something like that so easily! She had no f*****g idea what I had done inorder to find Adam. How much I craved a relationship with my son. How I felt when I saw him in her arms, not mine. “I will act like a father because I am his father. Someone like you will get what she deserves!” I whispered near her lips before letting her go. I took steps backward, she was confused about what I was doing. She looked around herself in panic. “What are you doing?!” She yelled as two of my men grabbed her from behind. Well really one was more than enough to restrain her but I had already sensed that she was a warrior, so I had mind linked two men to handle her. I took Adam in my arms as I kissed his soft cheeks while looking at her. She was struggling as she tried her best to get away from them but failed. The rain had started and soon it would be torrential. “Alpha,” Robin opened the car door for me. She looked stunned, her face turned white when she realised that I was leaving with my son. “No! Don't take him away from me. He is sick,” she shrieked, finally succeeding in escaping but my men grabbed her again. I just turned and sat in the car but in the back seat this time. Robin was in the passenger seat. “Let’s go,” I ordered, still watching her through the rearview mirror. “No! Give him back to me! Please!” She continued shouting. My men left her as they all moved to get in the other cars. The clouds had opened up and it was raining heavily. She raced after the car and started to bang her hand on the window. “Owen, please don't take him. He needs me. He is sick. Trust me I am not lying.” I saw tears in her eyes that could be fake but I looked down to Adam, touching him. He looked alright, as if he was only sleeping, and he did not appear to have a fever. How could she be sure that he was sick? I looked back at her. Her fake tears were now mixed with rain. How dare she lie?! “Drive!” I commanded. The driver started the car and she started to bang more. “Please stop! Owen! Stop the car!!!” The driver sped up causing her to fall on the ground. I observed her through the mirror. She refused to give up. She just got up and chased after the car again. “She is following us. What is with this woman? Why is she so obsessed with her sister’s child?” Robin had become equally as irritated as me. I had not replied, I just kept watching her. She was trying to use her wolf speed but for some reason it was not working for her. It was like her wolf was weak or something. Lightning struck close by followed by the boom of thunder as I pulled Adam to my chest. The strange thing was he had not woken up from the noise or light. Young children were sensitive to noise and woke up easily but Adam seemed indifferent. I had not heard him cry once. In the booth he just moved a little when we spoke. I again lifted my eyes to the mirror to see she was far away but still chasing after us. “Speed the car up more,” with this order I looked at the mirror with a frown as I saw something else in the mirror. “Alpha,” Robin stammered, panicked as he had also noticed what I had. “She will die,” he informed, looking back at me as I was not able to tear my eyes away from her small figure on the road. “Take care of Adam!” I handed Adam over to Robin as I jumped out of the moving vehicle as I hadn’t had the time to wait for it to stop. I was running back towards her where a large truck was coming up behind her at full speed. The way the truck was weaving from right and left I could plainly see that the driver was drunk! She was so crazy over Adam that she had not even cared that she was going to die. I used my wolf speed as the truck was only ten meters away from hitting her. “Alpha!” I heard Robin shout in worry. If I was late then I was going to die with her. I grabbed her tiny waist, pulling her towards me. Her leg twisted as she lost her balance. She fell on top of me as we fell hard to the ground. We began to roll on muddy, rocky, leaf cluttered ground. I held her body tightly with one hand on her head as there were many trees and stones that we could hit our heads on. I felt as if a sharp stone had stabbed my back very deeply. “Aaahhh!” I shouted, instantly feeling her hand over my chest as she knew I was hurt. She and I tried to control our rolling as we ended near a large tree. The rain was still falling as heavy as before but finally our world was no longer spinning. She was still over my body as she breathed as heavily and fast as me. She looked at me with her red eyes and face from her screaming and crying earlier. “Aaahhh,” I felt the pain in my back again. She panicked, moving off of me. “You are bleeding!” She saw my blood on the ground where I had been lying. I groaned in frustration getting up. First I twisted my back a little, straightening up to my full height. The sharp stone fell out of my back as I glared at the female. I got close to her then pulled her close to me. “Are you f*****g blind! That truck was going to hit you!” She did not react as her big beautiful eyes were on my injured head which was bleeding. When she whimpered a little I noticed her arm was injured. There was a big cut from her elbow to hand like something sharp had torn her skin. Now I understood when she clutched my chest when we were rolling on the ground. She had gotten hurt but had not even cried. I ran my hand over her bloody arm gently, she should have screamed at the very least but I saw no changes in her eyes. “Don't you feel the pain?” I wondered, not even realising that my other hand had been roaming over her smooth waist. “Not as much as when you took Adam from me,” her voice was low like mine but I saw hurt in them. “Adam is my son, I will take him. I need him,” I told her again but this time I was not aggressive like before. “He needs me,” she was quick to reply. I had not said anything to her after this but Robin came over with Adam. He was under an umbrella. Other pack members were also with him as they all were looking at her and I. I noticed my hand that was still on her body, both of our bodies were glued to each other, just as our eyes had been locked with each other a few seconds ago. She quickly pulled herself away. For some unknown reason I felt upset that she had done that. We were still looking at each other silently. “Alpha, I need to say something,” Robin commented but I still had not broken eye contact with her. “What?” I answered annoyed. “Adam,” as soon as he spoke his name she and I both snapped our attention to him instantly. “Adam has a high fever,” my eyes widened. She and I ran to him together but neither of us could take him in our arms as we were soaking wet. She kept her hand on his cheek and neck while I checked his forehead. His body was burning! “We need to take him to the hospital!” She almost shouted then looked at me. “I told you he was sick but you did not listen to me. Now let me take him to the hospital,” she blamed panicking at witnessing Adam’s condition. “No, I don't believe in human hospitals. My pack’s doctor will treat my son,” I declared. “But…” She again started to argue but was interrupted. “I said it and that final,” I walked away but suddenly she grabbed my hand. “Take me with you. I can not leave him in this condition. Please…” She begged, this time I saw tears in her eyes. I looked at Adam then her. f**k! I remembered earlier when he was in her arms that he was okay but when I had separated them that was when he had fallen ill. I could not risk my son’s life. “Okay, but you can not take him away. He is mine!”
