I awoke on the spare bed of Gio’s apartment. He had been so sweet last night, even after I had lured him in with my kisses, and we had mind-blowing s*x over the back of the sofa. Then I rejected him again. He still fixed the window as best he could, before telling me I should not be on my own in the house after everything that had happened, and to be honest, I was glad, because I had been terrified at the thought of being alone.
Everything with Theo had only heightened the things that had happened with the guy from the office too, so I was more than a little shook up. So I really did not want to be alone. The one day Summer was away, was the one day I needed her the most. I know I could have turned to Noah, or even to Eli, but I truly did not want to explain everything to them about Theo.
