  Adeline   The foul smell of mold lingers into my nostrils and I feel my eyes struggle to flutter open. I could feel the bile creeping up my throat at the combination of the potent wet smell and my own grogginess that I was feeling. I scuffle to move my arms but no matter how hard I fight to move, I can’t. My eyes linger down and I wonder if I’m dead, my mind scrambled remembering how someone had attacked me in my own bedroom. My private refuge. The only safe place I’ve ever had.   I must be dead, why is it so hard to move? I remember my mate, he must know that I’m missing by now. f**k, my parents. My father needs me, what if he thinks I just left him there to die alone? I try to make sense of the situation but my thoughts are so scrambled, the why’s, how’s and who’s are making me fee
