“What the f**k?” Warren groaned out as he sat across from Jason.
“Look, Warren, we have been friends for years, all I’m saying is seal the deal,” Jason got up and left Warren alone. ‘Seal the deal’ seemed like such a daunting thing to him at this point. Three months had already passed since Felicity had arrived. The pack grounds and village had been completely restored and renovated. Members were still joining, and they now had a total of two hundred wolves. Things had definitely been going well but he had to admit, his relationship with Felicity was at a standstill. Neither one of them had made a move and they had been careful around each other, avoiding mishaps such as the towel incident. She slept in his bed and that was as far as it went. Maybe Jason was right. She was his mate. Maybe it was time, he made a move. He got up from his desk and went over to the window. In the distance, he could clearly see her training with the warriors. She loved it, he knew this, and he had to put some kind of plan into motion if he wanted to be mated with her. He wasn’t worried about attraction or even love as both were already present and accounted for. He had caught her looking at him on more than one occasion. So, he knew she felt the same way but yet she hadn’t made a move either. Watching as she waved to the group and start making her way to the packhouse. Maybe this was his chance to do something. He rushed to their bedroom and it wasn’t long before she entered.
“Oh, Warren, I wasn’t expecting you in here,” she said breathlessly as she came into the room and spotted him standing there. He went over to her, smiling all the way, pulled her roughly into his arms and kissed her. Immediately he could feel the sparks erupt from his body as he tasted her sweet lips. It took him a moment to realize that she was stiff and unresponsive. He gently pulled back and looked at her questioningly.
“Felicity?”
“What the hell was that for?” she questioned as she moved from him and went into the bathroom. He followed her so that he could answer her.
“We are fated mates Felicity, are you going to tell me you feel nothing between us?” he asked. Felicity turned to look at him and he wasn’t sure how she was feeling as her expression was blank.
“We are indeed fated mates but that doesn’t mean you can just force yourself on me,” her answer made him take a step back and she used this opportunity to slam the bathroom door closed. He felt her rejection cut through him like a knife. He hadn’t meant to force himself on her, he had only wanted to build on their relationship that seemed ready to die before it had begun. Wyclef was raging around, and Warren didn’t blame him. He sat down on the bed, waiting for her to be done. When she reappeared, freshly showered and wrapped in a small towel. He tried his best not to stare.
“Do you mind?” she snapped, and he quickly left the room. He waited outside, giving her the privacy she obviously desired.
“This is bullshit, doesn’t she want us?” Wyclef growled out.
“I don’t know what she wants,” Warren replied. After a few moments, he poked his head in to find that she had finished getting dressed and was now combing out her long hair. He took a step inside and closed the door behind him. It was time to get some answers.
“Don’t you want us?” he asked the very question his wolf had asked him. She turned to him with a hurt look on her face and he wanted to take that away, but he also wanted to know the truth.
“Warren, of course, I want you, but you can’t just take me by surprise and force this on me,” she explained to him. “I mean, let’s take things slow?”
“Felicity, you’ve been here for three months already, this is the first time I’m attempting to make a move,” he argued. He was feeling frustrated and annoyed by the whole conversation, but he pushed down those feelings. He wanted to know how to further the relationship and her saying that they must take things to slow baffled him.
“Warren, I’ve never been interested in boys,” he gave her a pointed look. “No, what I mean is I’ve never found the time or interest in checking out boys or that kind of thing, I’ve always been interested in my training because all I’ve ever wanted was to be a warrior,”
“I haven’t stopped you from having that,”
“I know you haven’t, and I honestly love it, it means so much to me actually,” he wasn’t sure what emotion she was feeling. “What do you want from me? Something romantic? Something s****l?” Warren was taken aback by her questions, by her words.
“Honestly yes, I was expecting something romantic, something s****l, something that mates share,” he spoke harshly. The anger building up had seeped its way into his words. He wasn’t understanding how she didn’t want that with him. “I don’t understand you, Felicity, I haven’t forced anything on you, I’ve been patient and given you everything you’ve asked for, demanded and much more,”
“So, you expect something in return?”
“Well, yeah,” he answered her. “Is it so wrong for me to have expectations or to want to kiss you?”
“Go to hell!” Felicity cried out. Warren was once again taken aback by such fierce words coming out of her delicious mouth. He took a step closer and leaned forward.
“I’ve already been to hell,” he whispered. The shocked look on her face was enough for him as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her roughly. He wanted to get his point across and this time he could feel her respond to him, or so he had thought.
“I’m sure they will welcome you back then,” she snapped as she pulled away from him. Warren wondered how she managed to deny the sparks and the connection, he wasn’t sure. But he would be damned if he would allow her to treat him in such a manner.
“If you refuse to have a relationship with me, Felicity, then we will have to reject each other. You can go back home,” he turned away from her and left the room. If she didn’t want him then she was of no more use to him. It was a horrible thing to think or to feel, but he was hurt and angry.
-
Felicity breathed hard as she watched Warren leave the room.
“Something is wrong with you,” Felica commented and Felicity rolled her eyes.
“Why? Because I won’t jump into bed with him and have s*x?”
“No, because he was trying to form a relationship with us and you rejected him,” Felicity was just about to respond with some kind of comment when she felt her wolf block her out.
“Great!” she cried out in frustration. She wanted Warren. She didn’t understand her to want and need for him, but she knew it was present daily. However, his sudden desire and interest in her had been a surprise. She realized she may not have dealt with it the right way, but she was scared. She had meant what she had said about never being interested in boys. In fact, she had always believed she would be alone. No mate, no boyfriend, no distraction. Things were different now and she had no idea what to do and that is what scared her. Felicity didn’t want to go back home; she had come to love it here. Putting her pride in her pocket she left the room and went to the office. Knocking on the door, she waited for Warren.
“Come in,” came his gruff voice. She entered the room and blushed. It was obvious her mate was unhappy, and it was her fault.
“Warren,” she paused. She didn’t know if she should lie, beg or just be honest with him.
“Be honest,” Felica advised and Felicity fought back the urge to roll her eyes.
“Ok, here’s the thing, all my life, I’ve been training, all my life I’ve been interested in being a warrior. Now I am, and it makes me so happy. I am also this packs Luna and it makes me happy too. I love being here, I love everything about this place. When it comes to you, well, it scares me, you scare me,” she looked at him and could see that he was hurt by her words. Once again, she had hurt her mate. “When I say you scare me, I don’t mean like, I’m afraid you’ll hurt me or something, I mean I’m scared because I’ve never felt this way before and you ignite these feelings, these desires within me and I have no idea how to respond, how to act or even how to open myself up to you. I thought I was going to be alone, I never thought I’d actually find my mate,”
“So, what do you want Felicity?” his tone sounded bored and she cringed, knowing she deserved his coldness.
“I don’t want to refuse or reject you, but I am asking you to be patient with me, let’s take it slow,”
“Don’t you think I have been patient enough?”
“No Warren, I mean, be patient with me because I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know anything about s*x or kissing or that kind of thing,” she rushed out the words, feeling shy and embarrassed. A light seemed to go off in his head because she saw him blush and it was so cute, so adorable that she moaned out. This too, took him by surprise as he looked at her. She took a shaky step towards him and he stood up.
“Felicity, I will never hurt you or force myself upon you, I didn’t realize and I apologize for making you feel that I wanted to rush you because I don’t, we have our whole lives-” she cut him off by pressing her lips against his. Closing her eyes as she melted against his chest was such a delicious feeling that she pressed herself closer to him. It had been so hard for her to reject him earlier and now she was giving in. The way he felt pressed up against her, the way he smelt and how the sparks ignited and grew between them was a feeling Felicity had trouble describing. The smell of arousal was strong, and she realized how addicting it was. Warren gently pulled away from her, but not too far as he pressed his forehead against hers. Both of them were breathing hard.
“Felicity, Woah,” he finally whispered, and she couldn’t help but giggle.
“Woah indeed,” she commented. She could feel her wetness and blushed as she could also feel his hard-on pressed against her thigh. The heat sizzled between them and the desire to touch him was so strong, so overwhelming that she was tempted to give in. Yet she didn’t. Fear crept in and she took a shaky step back. Smiling at him awkwardly.
“Are you alright?” he frowned as he asked her.
“Yeah, I am more than alright, but I meant what I said about taking things slow and right now I feel as though I could grab you and well, have my way with you,” she couldn’t take her eyes off of him, so she didn’t miss the lust in his eyes.
“Good choice to step back, as I feel the same,” his voice was husky and deep which made her want to move forward and kiss him again but instead she stayed rooted in that spot. “Felicity, I suggest you leave, so we can both calm down,” she didn’t hesitate to move out of the room as quickly as possible. As much as she wanted him, she also wanted it to be special. And doing it on is desk or sofa wasn’t her idea of special. As she rushed downstairs she bumped right into Jackson.
-
Jackson caught her before she fell, and her smell of arousal was so powerful that he couldn’t help but breathe her in deeply. He didn’t think about why she was aroused because he didn’t care. At that moment he just held her somewhat close to him.
“I’m so sorry Jackson,” she apologized and after steadying herself she took a step back. He reluctantly released her and gave her a sheepish grin.
“That’s quite alright Luna,”
“Anyway, I have to go,” she said and rushed off. He watched her leave and couldn’t hide the way he admired her body. He knew it was wrong. He knew that she wasn’t his mate and in fact, she was his Alpha’s mate and so, therefore, there was nothing he could do about his lustful need to pound into her precious and sexy body. He shook his head and continued to the office.
“Alpha? Can I come in?” he asked carefully.
“Yeah,” came the reply. He pushed the door completely open and was taken aback by the smell that was filled in the room. “What can I do for you, Jackson?” Warren asked him. Jackson made himself comfortable on the sofa, he didn’t have much to discuss but he did need to hide his own arousal. The smell of Felicity was so powerful, and it messed around with his senses.
“Yeah, I just wanted to discuss the competition coming up,”
“Oh? Is that not something you should discuss with Felicity?”
“Actually yeah, but the thing is, I wanted to convince you to join in, I think that you being active in the event will show other wolves that you are participating in things like this,” Jackson explained. The truth was he wanted to set Warren up. When he realized that he wanted Felicity no matter what. He knew he had to get rid of Warren. Before they mated.
“Not a bad idea, but unfortunately, Felicity has told me not to join as she won’t be joining either,” this piece of information was news to him. He had assumed Felicity would be joining the competition as she is his partner.
“I didn’t know that,” he finally said out loud. Unsure of himself and his plan, he frowned.
“Yeah, she wants us to be seen showing support and cheering on from the side-lines. Since we are Alpha and Luna, we are stronger and it wouldn’t be very fair to the rest of the warriors, don’t you agree?”
“Um, yeah, sure, I guess,” he was getting lost in thought. Wondering what he could do now to get rid of the alpha. He wanted her and he wanted her soon.
“Are you worried about not having a partner?” the sudden question took Jackson by surprise. It meant that Felicity had told him they were partners.
“I guess,”
“No need to be, Jason informed us he wanted to enter, and Felicity suggested he partner up with you,” Warren informed him, and Jackson wanted to groan out in anger and frustration. He didn’t want Jason as a partner, he wanted Felicity. He wondered why she hadn’t mentioned any of this to him. He stood up and nodded at Warren as he quickly left the office. He would have to come up with another plan and he would have to do it fast. If the tension between Felicity and Warren got any stronger, it would mean they would mate soon and then he would lose any chance of being with the she-wolf of his dreams.
-
Felicity peaked out of the bathroom and spotted Warren laying comfortably on their bed. This wasn’t new to her but yet she felt the nerves bubbling up. She took a deep breath and left the bathroom. She didn’t look at him, in fear he was watching her. She slowly slipped into the bed.
“You don’t need to be nervous, I don’t bite,” she turned to look at him and he was smiling so innocently at her that she giggled.
“I know, I’m sorry,”
“Look, Felicity, you know I want you, but I want you to know that I will go at your pace,” she nodded and crept down lower, pulling the blanket up to her chin as she laid on her back. She could feel Warren leaning over and suddenly the room was in darkness as he had put off his bedside light. She could hear his breathing and she turned to look at him, her eyesight adjusting to the darkness and she could see that he was watching her. “Come here,” he whispered, and she did. She moved closer to him and he gathered her up against his chest. He didn’t touch her further, he just held her in his arms. Felicity rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, breathing in his intoxicating scent.
