Chapter Four - Growing

Felicity smiled as she walked through the house. A lot of renovations had been done and she was pleased with the results thus far. “Hey,” she turned as she heard Warren. She couldn’t help but smile at the sight of him. He had turned out to be a lot nicer than she had thought and she enjoyed his company. “Hey,” she replied. “Three more, a family, mother, father and a son. Would you like to join me in welcoming them?” he asked her, and she smiled as she nodded. The number of members was growing daily, word had spread that Red Tide pack was rebuilding and now had a Luna. Some of the old members had returned and somewhere new. The count had gone up from twenty-three to fifty-eight. No wait add the three new members and that would make it sixty-one. She followed Warren out and they walked side by side as they made their way to the village. “The village looks the way it should now,” Felicity commented as she looked around. They had done a lot of work in the village and it was now looking clean and lively with the members roaming around. They came to one of the new build homes and Warren knocked on the door. Felicity knew that Jason would have placed the new members in the village and that she and Warren would accept them into the pack. The door opened and a wolf answered. “Hello?” he greeted them, and she smiled warmly at him. She spotted his son peeking out from behind his father’s legs. “Hello, I am Alpha Warren, and this is Luna Felicity,” Warren introduced, and the wolf quickly bowed in respect. “Alpha, Luna, it is wonderful to finally meet you, please come in,” he stepped aside for them to enter and she could see they were still settling in, as there where still boxes stacked up against the wall but overall Felicity thought it looked good. She was impressed by the pack's effort and speed at building such awesome looking houses. “Sandra!” he called out and a she-wolf entered the living room. “Oh, hello,” she greeted when she saw them. “Honey, this is Alpha Warren and Luna Felicity,” the wolf introduced, and she quickly bowed in respect. “Welcome to Red Tide Pack,” Felicity welcomed them, and they smiled. “Thank you, I am Jacob, and this is my lovely wife and mate, Sandra and this little guy,” he picked up the young wolf. “Is David,” the young wolf hid his face against Jacob’s chest and Felicity couldn’t help but love the sight. “Shall we talk?” Warren suggested and Jacob nodded, gesturing for Felicity and Warren to take a seat. “I’ll make some tea,” Sandra said as she left the room. Felicity decided to join the she-wolf and let the males talk. “Oh Luna, this is such a lovely home,” Sandra said to her as Felicity took a seat at the kitchen table. “Thank you, I am glad you like it, this is one of the houses we built to extend the village,” she explained. “When we heard that Red Tide was rebuilding and that you had arrived, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Jacob’s brother, Jackson, is the lead warrior and he has been asking us for years to join,” “Oh? How did the two brothers split?” Felicity asked curiously. “Jackson left our old pack many years ago, he wanted to be a warrior and at that time, Alpha Wayne had one of the best training programs for new and young warriors,” Felicity recognized the name of Warren’s father. “Jacob and I had just met and so he didn’t want us to leave until we had settled down,” Sandra continued to explain. “When Alpha Wayne left and Warren took over, well, you know how it is, we heard the rumors and since we wanted to start a family, we didn’t want to begin a life together in a pack that was known for the horrors that we heard. So, we stayed away. When Alpha Warren was sent away to prison, we told Jackson to forget about us joining,” Sandra finished making the tea and excused herself as she went to serve the males. David skipped into the kitchen and Felicity smiled down at the boy. “Hello Luna,” he said shyly, and she opened her arms to pick him up. She sat him on her lap and poked his side softly, making him giggle. “How old are you David?” “Me five!” the boy declared proudly. “Sugar Luna?” Sandra asked as she came back into the kitchen. “Two please,” she answered as she continued tickling little David who was squealing with delight. “Five years old, impressive,” Felicity commented to Sandra as she sipped on her hot tea. “Our little bundle of joy,” Sandra remarked, and she continued talking about their trip and how happy they were to be here when Warren came into the kitchen. “Shall we do the acceptance?” he asked, and Sandra beamed with joy. “That would be wonderful,” Felicity followed them back out to the living room, whilst still carrying little David. She secretly couldn’t wait to have pups of her own and she eyed out Warren as they all stood around. “I, Warren Ryker, Alpha of Red Tide Pack,” Warren spoke clearly as they all awkwardly smiled at each other. “I, Felicity Ann Lavoie, Luna of Red Tide Pack,” she spoke up and let Warren finish the acceptance speech. “We officially accept you and your family as part of Red Tide Pack, our home and our families. As a pack, we are rebuilding to come together, to love, support and protect each other until the day of our passing, we welcome you, Jacob Owen,” Warren turned to Sandra. “We welcome you, Sandra Owen,” he turned to little David who was still in Felicity’s arms. “We welcome you, David Owen,” “Welcome to Red Tide Pack Owen family,” Felicity smiled as she felt the connection grow. They cheered and chatted for a little while longer. Felicity knew that Warren would want to know exactly what contributions they had towards the pack and she gracefully said her goodbyes and left the home, making her way back to the packhouse. She greeted and smiled at the members in passing and she decided to make a turn to the training grounds. She loved this part of the pack and she loved how Jackson had welcomed her being apart of the team. “Luna,” she was greeted by the warriors and Jackson made his way over to her. “Hi, Jackson,” “Hi Luna,” he greeted her. “Are you here to give some kick-ass training?” he asked, and she shook her head. “Not today, but I was wondering if I could join in?” “Yeah of course,” she smiled and joined the others. Everyone stood still as they waited for Jackson. “Alright warriors stretch!” the wolves started with their stretching process and Felicity followed suit. Starting with her neck and arms, then her legs. Jackson watched and walked along, helping some of the members with their stretches. “Now defense!” Jackson suddenly yelled out and everyone took a defensive stance. “Hold it!” he yelled out again and Felicity could feel her muscles strain as she hadn’t been in training for a few weeks. Jackson once again made the rounds, helping and repositioning warriors. Easily five minutes passed, and Felicity could feel the burn and sweat. “Shake it off warriors!” he yelled out and everyone relaxed and hopped from one to foot to another. “Let’s go for a run!” Jackson called out and they started off at an easy pace, running around the training grounds. Felicity kept her pace easily and jogged up to Jackson who was leading the group. “Doing well?” she asked him. “Love it!” came his reply. “Come on Luna, let’s push it,” she glanced over at him and smiled before putting her head slightly down and pushed herself forward. Jackson yelled out for everyone to push harder and soon they were running faster and harder. Felicity kept her breathing in check as she led the group towards the village. They followed as she ran faster, pushing even harder. One lap, two laps and on the third lap she slowed down near the training grounds. “Awesome work! Shake it off!” Jackson yelled out. Felicity jogged in one spot, feeling the burn a lot more now, she loved it as she smiled encouragingly at her fellow members. - Warren left Jacob’s home and made his way back to the packhouse. He spotted the warriors running around the village and he smiled when he saw Felicity leading the group. He wanted to join in, but he had paperwork to deal with. “Alpha?” Jason called out for him. “Jason, my main man, how’s it going?” he stopped. “Going good, this place is starting to feel like a pack again,” “Hell, yeah it is,” “Listen, Alpha, I wanted to talk to you about some issues we are having on the southern border,” Warren nodded, and they walked together inside and to the office. Warren sat down in the comfortable office chair and looked at Jason. “Tell me,” “We found evidence of rogues, possibly camping or something,” “Increase the security in that area,” he informed him. “I did,” “Ok and so?” he questioned, wondering what it was that Jason was trying to get at. “I don’t think they camp at night but during the day,” “Ah,” Warren thought about this for a moment. “Well, that means we need security during the day, what about the towers?” he asked. “I placed two during the night and one during the day,” “Make it three,” “Day?” “No, make it three for day and for the night, we are under scrutiny not just for potential members but rogues as well. We need to be a lot more vigilant,” “Got it,” Jason bowed before leaving the office. Warren opened up the entry journal and added it to the newest members. The journal had been implemented by Felicity and he had to admit, he loved it. The pack was growing, and he couldn’t feel more pride in his pack and his Luna. He and Felicity had yet to marry and to even mate. He hadn’t pushed her as he didn’t want to scare her off. She was performing miracles in the pack and the last thing he wanted to do was put any kind of pressure on her that may result in her leaving. Not that he thought she would, just that he was definitely paranoid. He got up and went to his bedroom, he wanted to clean up and change before going to dinner and he hadn’t been expecting Felicity to be in the room since he had seen her running around with the warriors. He stopped dead in his tracks as his eyes widened at the sight of a wet, dripping Felicity in nothing but a small red towel. She turned at the sound of him entering the room and she too seemed frozen. “Ah, um…” he was at a loss for words as the sparks seemed to fly between them. The desire was evident in her eyes, but he knew better than that. “Warren,” she whispered his name and he felt the draw towards her. He took a step closer and so did she. He felt like he was in a trance as his wolf, Wyclef, pushed to take over. He stopped right in front of her, the two of them gazing into each other’s eyes. He gently ran his finger down the side of her cheek to her neck. A soft moan escaped her lips and his eyes immediately went down, looking at her soft plump lips. The sudden urge to kiss her was overwhelming. He ran his thumb over her bottom lip and the sound of pleasure filled the room. Unsure of who had made the sound, he looked back up and saw that her eyes where now the shade of amber gold and he snapped out of the trance. “Felica,” he greeted her wolf and she smirked as she took a step towards him. “Mmm,” she purred and dropped the towel that had been covering her. Warren quickly shut his eyes, he wanted to look and take her all in with his hungry eyes, but he couldn’t. Not when it was her wolf and not her. “Felica, please, can I have Felicity back,” he begged softly. He felt her hands on his arms, moving up and down as she caressed him. Wyclef was pushing harder to come through. “Why don’t you let him come out to play?” she slurred seductively. Warren abruptly turned and stormed out of the room. “She will be the death of me!” he muttered as he went outside, taking in deep gulps of the fresh air. He had no idea what to do and although there were only a small handful of mated wolves in his pack, he had no idea who of them could advise him on this. He wished now he had paid more attention to his father's teachings. *Flashback* “Are you listening to me?” Alpha Wayne asked him. Warren rolled his eyes as he looked over at his father. “Yeah of cause dad,” he mumbled. “Good, because one day you are going to take over the pack and you need to know these things,” “I know dad,” “Well, then since you know everything why you don’t tell me what the purpose of having a Luna means?” Wayne questioned him and he panicked for a moment. Trying to remember what his father had told him about it. “A Luna is um…like an alpha and she is the female leader,” he knew he was grasping at straws at trying to figure out an answer. He didn’t dare look at his father as he racked his brain for possible answers that his father would accept. “And?” “And what dad? She is the same as an alpha, just in female form,” he was getting annoyed. “A Luna is an Alpha’s mate son, you seem to have forgotten that part,” “Oh yeah right, mate,” he groaned out. “And what is a mate?” his father asked him, and Warren rolled his eyes yet again. “A mate is a wolves partner,” he gave the obvious answer. *End of flashback* - Jackson settled himself down on the sofa in the entertainment room of the packhouse. His fellow warriors were in the dining room stuffing their faces with the meal Jessica and Amanda had prepared. He closed his eyes as he thought about the day. Training had gone well, Felicity joining in for a bit definitely helped. He admired her beauty and strength. “Sleeping?” he opened his eyes and looked up at Felicity. “No, just resting,” he answered as he smiled at her. She giggled and threw herself down next to him. He felt the rush move through his body and for the millionth time he wondered why she wasn’t his mate. They fitted so well together. “Tomorrow I’d like to run an exercise,” she told him. “Sounds good,” “I think it will be fun too,” she turned to smile at him, and he literally had to force himself not to reach out and touch her skin. It looked so smooth and soft. “Um, yeah, I’m sure with you it will be,” he complimented her, and she blushed. The soft pink that covered her cheeks made her look even more attractive and the way her gray eyes sparkled made his heart beat faster. She was by far the most exquisite she-wolf he had ever had the privilege of laying his eyes upon. “I’m starved,” she announced and got up. He was disappointed to see her go but he enjoyed checking out her ass in the tight black denim she had on. “Coming?” she asked, and it was his turn to blush. “Yeah, sure,” he said as he got up and followed her into the dining room. He took a seat next to her and couldn’t help brushing his leg against hers. When she didn’t pull away, he left his knee pressed against her thigh. The closeness was intoxicating and he was just about to lean in closer to whisper in her ear when Warren walked in. "Hi guys," Warren greeted and Jackson couldn't help but feel Felicity being drawn to the alpha. She actually got up and went to sit next to him and the feeling of jealousy was strong in him. He cursed himself for allowing the crush to develop in the first place. He shoved some roasted potatoes in his mouth as he thought about how he was going to get himself out of this mess.
