Amber waited outside Noah and Nox's room as the pack doctor examined him. She was pacing back and forth.
"Babe, calm down," Croxx said while leaning on the wall. Amber looked at him, eyes brimmed with tears.
"How could I? I was the one who wanted to go out. It happened because of me," she said. Croxx sighed and walked towards her. He tucked her hair beside her ear and touched her hand.
"It wasn't your fault, okay?" Croxx said, but it didn't ease what she was feeling. When the doctor went out of the room, Amber rushed inside and saw Noah's mother sitting beside him.
"I'll leave you two," Leah said and smiled. When she went out, Amber burst out crying as she ran to Noah.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Boo!" she said while hiccuping. Noah weakly smiled and comforted his best friend.
