Fallen
Fallen knocked on the door, but there was no answer. She reached for the door handle to open it when it was wrenched open and Triam grasped her arm and pulled her inside. He gripped her arms and pulled her close.
“Let her out,” he bit out, his grip tightening. His eyes held a strange light that scared her. They were both red. When did they turn red? Was he more vampire than a wolf, right then? Fallen shook her head. It didn’t matter what he was. She was there to bring his mate. She should get out of the way.
“Good luck,” she told Jesse as she closed her eyes and gave herself to the darkness.
Jesse
Jesse moaned as pain rushed through her arms. She looked up to find a monster staring down at her. It was that guy, that one with strange eyes, but he looked like nothing she remembered. Fear slammed into her as she stared up at him, trying to understand what she was looking at. He looked so scary, nothing she'd ever seen before. He looked like a creature from nightmares.
What do I do? She asked herself, trembling.
“You’re here,” he rumbled, leaning close to her. Sharp teeth appeared in his mouth as he got closer. Jesse opened her mouth to scream, but her scream died in her mouth as he pulled her into his arms, and pressed his lips to her neck, the sharp pointy teeth scraped her skin. Jesse couldn’t take it. She closed her eyes as her world went dark.
Fallen
Fallen gasped as she was suddenly pulled from the darkness. She froze as she opened her eyes and found herself in Triam’s arms. His fangs sank into the side of her neck. She moaned as pleasure she’d never felt before filled her. Her whole body tingled, starting from her breasts to her p***y. He groaned, sucking her blood hard.
Oh my God, Fallen thought as she leaned into him. It felt like she was being turned inside out. Desire ran through her, she shivered. But then Triam froze and pulled back to stare at her.
“What the f**k?” he said, shoving her way from him. Fallen stumbled and fell on the bed. His scent filled her lungs as she fell on the bed face first. “What the hell are you doing?” he asked viciously. Fallen turned around to stare at him. The rage in his eyes was burning like wildfire. He wiped the blood off his lips with disgust as he stared at her. “Do you think this is a game?”
“No. Do you think I would let you bite me?” Fallen laughed. “You’re so arrogant. I wouldn’t let you touch me even if you were the last man on earth. Your precious mate must have run away and left me to deal with you. I don’t blame her. I would run away from you too. You should see yourself. You look like a monster.”
Triam flinched but he hid his reaction. He growled, taking a menacing step towards her.
“Watch your mouth,” he snarled.
Fallen stared at him, and then walked to the door.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Your mate ran. There’s nothing left for me to do here,” Fallen said. Triam said nothing. She looked over her shoulder at him. He looked a little better. The tension that had pulled on his face was gone, and his one eye was going back to normal.
He was fine, Fallen thought relieved. She walked to the door and opened it. She walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. She leaned against it, as her legs suddenly felt weak. She took a deep breath, her hand flying to the side of her neck. She shivered at the throbbing feeling there.
Damn, that was something else, she thought as she walked away from the room. She made her way downstairs where her father was waiting.
“Did everything go well?” he asked. Fallen nodded and didn’t go into detail about what happened. She didn’t want to talk about it. It was enough that she could feel his arms around her and the feel of his mouth as he fed from her. It was the strangest and most exhilarating thing she’d ever experienced. Her heart was still pounding.
“I want to go home,” she told him and walked to the door. Her father said something to Triam's father and followed her out.
“What happened?” he asked her as they walked to the door.
Fallen turned to her. She didn’t know what to tell him. She couldn’t tell him that his mate ran. She still had to talk to Jesse, find out what happened to her. She couldn’t run away just like that. Triam was her mate, not her, Fallen thought, feeling weird that fate forced her between them. She pushed the jealousy and ache that filled her heart away. She didn’t want any part of this.
“Fallen?” her father persisted.
“I don’t know. His mate met him, remember?” she lied. And then got into the car. Her father rounded the car and got in. “He must have fed because I have a bite mark.”
“I can see that,” her father said, his eyes falling on her neck. “It’s a good thing you don’t remember what happened. I was worried about that.”
What?
“Why?” Fallen asked.
“You liked Triam for a very long time. I always thought you might find your way to each other that you’d end up being his mate, but…” he shrugged as he drove away from the house. “I guess I was wrong. It’s a good thing that you don’t remember. It would have been hard for you. A vampire’s bite is…” he trailed off, turning to her.
Fallen clasped her hands nervously. She knew what he was talking about.
“Its even worse when you like that vampire. You liked Triam a lot, right?”
A lot, Fallen thought. She resisted the urge to touch the bite mark again.
“It’s a good thing you found your mate too. Kelani is a strong male. A prince too. He’ll be good to you,” her father said. Fallen bit into her tongue feeling guilty. She should have told Kelani the truth. This was getting so complicated.
