Iris's dad packed everything up and left her room, leaving her heartbroken and crying into her pillow. She would rather die than go to Canada with him. After a sleepless night, she sat with her pets on the floor of her room. Her dad, as usual, hadn't thought about them while planning to shift. "Will you go with me to Nick's house?" Iris caught Duffy's face and asked him. He broke free and started jumping with joy at the mention of Nick. Even Pilot whined to go and Sniffer looked at her with pleading puppy dog eyes.
"You all love him like I do, don't you?" she said, as tears fell from her eyes. Her dad walked inside and saw her sitting with her pets.
"Hurry, get ready, we have a flight to board, Iris," he reminded her with a displeased look on his face.
