She switched off her phone, covered herself with the thick quilt and closed her eyes to sleep. Weather was chilly in early December, especially at night. During the day, a jacket would be good enough to warm up but not so much at night. Samirah held onto the quilt for dear life. In the end she buried her head inside as well. Samirah slept like a log for most of the night. It wasn't until the last hours of night that her nightmare slowly crept out from the depth of her memories.
