"What's wrong with you?!" Samirah was scared at Alice's sudden appearance. Whatever happened to footsteps? Was Alice always this quite when walking? There was no trace at all!
"Mornin'" Alice droned lazily. She patted Samirah's shoulder on her way to the refrigerator, picked out a bottle of juice and gulped it down at once. Samirah was still recovering from the shock. Once she was over it, the eggs had to be cleaned.
Another helper joined Samirah and the eggs were cleaned up quickly.
"I feel like sh-it," Alice rubbed her forehead and leaned against the marble counter where Samirah was working. Samirah cracked the eggs and responded.
"Yeah? We both stayed up late but why is the contrast so big?" Samirah asked then laughed when Alice made a pouty face.
