Meeting Her

Camilla's POV     "You are going to look so beautiful honey" I could hear my mom from behind the curtain. I was trying a wedding dress and the lady helping me with it could notice how unhappy I was. My pale skin was not the best type of skin for a white dress. Yes, we were vampires and I hated white "This is not a marriage you want is it?" she whispered so mom did not hear. I didn't have to say a word for her to know.     "I am really sorry sweetheart. We deal with a lot of brides with arranged marriages, and their looks are just like yours" she tried to sympathize with my situation, but no words would make me feel better. It was sad that my parents would rather choose money over their own daughter. Pushing me into a loveless marriage I might not survive.     "Don't you have a darker color? White is just not for me" I asked. The store clerk tried to convince me to keep this dress on and show it to my mom.     She opened the curtain giving me a sympathetic smile. "Oh My God you look so beautiful! I am sure Henry will love seeing you walk down the aisle on that dress" Mom said almost in tears. I just stood there in front of the mirror. No expression on my face. Just looking at the woman standing in front of me.      'You need to escape this. You can't get married to someone you don't love' my conscience was telling me. "Camilla, smile. It will be the happiest day of your life, and this dress is perfect" my future mother in law pitched in "My son will make you very happy"     That was not the point. I just didn't love him. And he was not a very nice person. In front of our families, he would be a caring and supportive fiancé but behind closed doors, he would humiliate me. He would yell at me and one day he just showed his fangs threatening to mark me without my consent. I needed someone who cared for me and made me feel loved.      After a long day of shopping for my wedding, we decided to go back home. If you would call it home. All I could see was a big mansion and the staff running around decorating. My engagement party was tomorrow and I was not sure if I could even come down for it. Almost every vampire coven was attending this wedding. It was nauseating.     I got out of the car without even waiting for someone to open it for me. I dashed to my room and locked myself in. "Camilla honey, come on. This should be a happy day for you" mom said from behind the door. I opened it and looking straight at her I said "Happy?! I am never going to be happy. An arranged marriage is not the way for a woman to live. I want to choose my own partner, my own life mom! I am tired of all of you trying to control my life, just because you want to keep your wealth!"     She was pretending to be shocked. I know when she fakes it all too well. "Henry is a very kind young man, and he will provide for you. Besides, if you marry him, you won't go hungry. He will have all the blood bags you need. Not only bags from the hospital, but he knows people willing to let you feed on them. That will be fresh blood for you"     "Provide? Mom money is not everything. And I will be fine with the way I have been feeding. And I am hating this. I can't even eat a normal meal. I want love, I want happiness. Can't I just get that?" I tried to plead with her, but to no avail.      "You are getting married in a month, and that is final!" she yelled before walking away. I closed the door and I was so upset that I stood in front of the mirror and threw a shoe at it, shattering to pieces.      I was angry and frustrated. My opinions never counted, it was always their way or no way at all. Andrew's POV     "Wake up sleepy head!" I could hear my mom yelling from downstairs. I groaned, it was Saturday and I could not even sleep in. I had a big gig last night and got home late. I was a professional photographer and part-time college student in my Senior Year. I was on Spring Break and trying to enjoy it. But these early mornings mom keeps me on are a nightmare.     I went to the bathroom to take a shower and walked downstairs for breakfast. "How was the photography gig you had last night?" mom asked curiously. I took a bite of the bacon. "It was pretty good, the bride and groom looked really happy. And it was an easy one, even the little ones cooperated" I replied.     Kids were the hardest to deal with, so I was happy it went smoothly. "I was thinking about going to the park later to snap some pictures for my photography class," I said.     "That's good honey, that way you keep getting more practice, not that you need it. Your photos come out perfect" I smiled at her comment.     Of course, she is my mom. She is supposed to say it. I finished my breakfast and headed to my room to get dressed. I put on my faded jeans, a black T-shirt, and my favorite sweater. Springtime still had that cool air I liked. Going to the park was perfect since the flowers had just bloomed and I was hoping to get a great picture of them.     I waved my mom goodbye and headed to the park in my car. A beat-up Honda, but how I loved that junk. It takes me anywhere, so I can't ask for much. It's my baby. I arrived at the park and headed to where the flowers would bloom best. I started taking a lot of pictures when all of a sudden I see her. A beautiful girl standing on the bridge. She looked sad and lonely. It was a perfect photo op.     I shot a few photos her way without her noticing. I could not believe how great they were coming out. She was just perfect. I decided to approach her, hoping she wouldn't be freaked out by me.     "Hi" was all I could get out as I walked closer to her. She looked up at me and I saw those big, blue eyes looking straight at me. She looked like she had been crying, her eyes were swollen and she had tear marks on her face. Her dark brown hair fell to her back. She smiled at me and that smile had my heart beating a hundred miles per minute. She was indeed beautiful. I wonder what or who made her cry like that.
