Kora’s POV “Not another one,” I groaned. In my hand, I held an invitation to the Moon Goddess Ball in Winter Harvest. I wondered which clever servant had gotten it past my brother Abel and to my lady’s maid. Abel would have torn it up and scattered it to the four winds before Mother or I ever saw it. Speaking of Mother, Queen Araceli herself entered the library right then and glanced at the vellum paper in my hand. “Moon Goddess Ball?” she asked as though she didn’t already know. Nothing got past her. I shrugged helplessly and handed her the invitation. It was suitably ornate and politely worded. There was nothing insulting about it. And Winter Harvest was certainly more to be trusted than Ember Moon. But I just couldn’t imagine putting myself through the whole process again. Not so
