The entire castle was busy, and there was really no point in pretending like I should be too. It almost made me laugh, thinking about how harried Scarlett seemed running around at Queen Bridget’s whims and how the queen had passed instructions to exclude me from the work at all costs.

I wondered if I would, given the chance. Since Kalinda had been pulled into the hustle, I had no one else to spend time with.
