Helio’s POV The forest enveloped me as I sprinted through the familiar path. My chaotic thoughts fueled my strides. I had hoped the whole horrible, blissfully perfect, and cataclysmic moment would be forgotten in the wind rushing past me, but it wasn’t helping at all. The taste of Cindra’s lips still lingered, sweet and bitter, damning me more by the second. No matter how far into the forest I ran, I could still smell her as if her scent was drifting on every breeze and gust of wind through the trees. I slowed to a stop, out of breath, legs shaking, and still frustrated by the kiss that should never have happened. What the hell was I thinking? Why did I let it happen? Why did I make it happen?
