I saw this old movie on TV a few years ago called Heaven Can Wait. It’s about a football player who dies while biking through a tunnel, and when he gets up to heaven he finds out they made a mistake—he was actually supposed to survive, but his guardian angel or whatever it was saw what was going down and decided to pull him out of his body and let him avoid all that pain. Big mistake. By the time it all gets sorted out, the guy’s body has already been cremated, so that’s no longer an option. Instead they find another body for him—some fat rich guy who’s just been knocked off by his wife and her lover.
And the thing that I loved most—not realizing that one day I would die, too, and I would feel the exact same way—is that the reincarnated guy accepts that this new body isn’t perfect—it’
