I couldn't believe Cody had actually defended me against Katya. I still didn't trust him, but something was changing. Was this the mate bond at work? People don't just change like that overnight.
And David was Katya's mate? That was a twist that I never saw coming. I don't think anyone did, especially Katya and David themselves. I had to giggle at the thought of the two of them together. They were like oil and water. Watching the two of them try to work things out was bound to be interesting. Honestly, I felt pretty sorry for David. He had never helped me in any way, but he had never physically abused me either. The worst he'd done was laugh when others made fun of me. And my so called sister? She could rot in h**l for all I cared. I felt bad for anybody that got stuck
