The lobby was quiet and not much was going on, which wasn't really that shocking. The occasional person was sitting in the computer room, but most were probably at the gym or by the pool. A young couple were speaking with the front desk, probably about buying their first place. I could tell by how happy they were that they were clearly newly in love and making the next big step.
I remember making that big step in the past and how it had turned south. We had different interests. He hadn't been into what I was and wouldn't even try to make it work. He found other people that were more to his tastes and left me. I was left to relearn how to be on my own since we had been together for five years. But it was okay, I had become stronger and more independent because of it.
