08 - Instinct to Kill

Diana didn't stop running until she collapsed on top of a hill. She and Stephan often came here and they had so many good memories here. Laying motionless there, her emotions were so all over the place. She's never lost her cool like that before and now that she did, she almost hurt the people she loves.

'Don't beat yourself up, Diana. Just see this as p*****t for what she's done to you' Raine said

That's not an excuse Raine, it's not. I shouldn't have reacted like that but somehow I did.

She silently laid there crying her heart out wishing that Jasper was here and that she's already 18 and is now mated to him.

While at the packhouse, Amelia has cleared out the blood in the field as well as the front porch. Julius and Clarissa were at the infirmary getting treated by a junior doctor while Amelia got ready to receive the guests who would be here any minute.

Annie walked up to her and asked "Luna Amelia, do you know where Diana is? She is not in her chamber nor is she treating her wound at the infirmary. I'm really worried".

"Wound?" Amelia asked

"Yes, she had blood flowing from her head really bad, and am worried she may be bleeding out"

Amelia looked at the young girl beside her as an uneasy feeling crept up her gut. She was about to say something when a patrol guard ran towards them announcing the arrival of the royal soldiers. As the guard finished speaking, 6 cars drove into the compound drawing up so much dust as they parked with screeching sounds.

Stephan, Jasper, and their men, Ethan, his right-hand man, Carlos, and their soldiers. all came down from the cars. The four men in the 1st Jeep walked to the door with Alpha Stephan leading the way. Carlos's beast suddenly got excited as he began looking around him and that was when he smelt it. It lay the whole world stopped as he let his nose guide him to the alluring scent in the air.

Walking beside Ethan, he made eye contact with the girl standing with the Luna and then froze in his tracks as his beast growled 'MATE'.

On hearing his best friend, Ethan froze in his tracks but before he could react, Carlos rushed forth, pulling a trembling Annie into his embrace, burying his nose into her neck. Looking into her eyes, he cupped her face and growled MINE!

"Yours" Annie replied visibly trembling in his embrace.

"Ehem" Stephan coughed slightly making Carlos straighten up his back but didn't let go of Annie until he made eye contact with Ethan. He slowly and reluctantly let go of her before walking back to stand beside Ethan.

"Lord Ethan, this is my wife and luna Amelia."

"Welcome to our home Lord Ethan"

"Thank you Luna Amelia" Ethan replied curtly.

"Please come in, your rooms are all read,y," Amelia said, she turned to Annie and requested "Please take lord Ethan and his right-hand man to their chambers"

Yes Luna she replied, turned around,d and went into the house with the men got on her tails. She was inwardly cursing Diana for not being here, after all, this was meant to be her duty, not mine.

As she was lost in thought, she slipped falling backward when her mate caught her by the raise, sending tingles down her spine. Taking a deep breath to calm her racing heart, she gave him a look of gratitude and kept walking but Carlos did not remove his hands. He instead held her waist tightly as he walked with her looking at her like she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

Ethan looked at the two with a scrunched-up face, feeling irritated. All he wanted to do was kick them out of his sight but he just ignored them.

He busied himself with thoughts of his secret mission while he silently admired the interior design of the place. He liked everything about it down to its tiniest details including the yellow flower garlands on the walls.

As they got to the top floor, Annie led them to the left-winging of the house. As they got to the middle of the hall, both men froze in their tracks. Their beasts trashing around in their minds, their eyes glazed over turning to a very glowy golden color. Carlos turned to his best friend and realized he felt it too, the scent was so strong that they could not shake it off.

They are sure of what they feel so Carlos turned to Annie and asked "Who stays on this side of the house?"

"My kid sister" Stephan replied from behind them.

The men pulled themselves together as their eyes went back to their original color.

"Alpha Stephan, are you here to discuss strategies?"

"Not at all, am just here to check on my sister. Please, carry on" Stephan replied, walked past them, and entered Diana's Chamber.

Annie pointed at the door in front of them and said "This is your chambers, Lord Ethan"

She then pointed to her right looking at Carlos as she said "This is yours"

Carlos saluted Ethan saying "See you at dinner boss". He then grabbed his mate and entered his chambers joyfully.

Ethan looked at the door by his left but couldn't hear a thing. Sighing, he walked into his room and froze in his tracks once again.

A murderous glint flashed through his eyes as he fought for control with his beast whose basic instinct became to kill.
