This is exactly why I should have never provoked him last night, because almost every time we go crazy, this happens.
I search through the many clothes that I have in my closet and for some reason, I see nothing good enough to wear.
Story of every morning, hello!
I decide to go for something simple by pairing a skirt with a crop top and throwing a denim jacket over. My wavy brown hair gives me less trouble than I expect and I am able to tie it into a neat and fashionable enough ponytail and head out only 6 minutes late.
Not that bad.
"Hey mum!" I smile at her as I grab a plate that she just finished filling with good breakfast food.
"that was my plate!" she complains and I turn to her with one of the mini sausages in my mouth and shrug.
She responds by rolling her eyes before making a plate for herself.
"How is dad doing?" I decide to ask her a question that I rarely want to touch on.
She furrows her brows in obvious confusion and I find myself waiting for an answer even longer after she finishes swallowing the bite that she was chewing through when I asked the question initially.
"He is good..." it almost sounds like a question when she answers. I guess that is because I rarely call him that. He is my step father and as much as they have been together for close to five years now, I basically still do not have a relationship with him.
The fact that he is always far from home because of work does help, but me still having a soft spot for my biological father definitely has a hand in that too.
My mother and my biological father do not see eye to eye at all. Long story. But my father has been in and out of jail for a while, and it had already started when they were still together.
"Why do you sound so surprised? I genuinely want to know how he is doing." I shrug and she smiles softly before reaching over and caressing the top of my hand.
"I know. He is really good. I spoke to him for a while last night actually, and he is coming home the weekend after his brithday and we are going to celebrate as a family. I have already spoken to Hailey about it and she thinks she can come home too." wow! So all I had to do was ask that question? I doubt that discussion was a last night thing, there is no way she called my sister late at night and she answered. She is always with her friends or a guy at night.. At least that is what I have been led to believe because of her behaviour and her acting like I interrupted a very good railing session when I call her anytime after ten at night.
"When were you going to tell me?" I question and I she shrugs. I know she is always so nervous when it comes to talking about Raymond, her new husband. Hailey get along with him way better than I do, for some reason so I guess that is why she has already told her about the celebration even though I do not know much yet.
