Maddox's POV
"Thank you for letting me stay for the night. I really appreciate the help". I smile at Candice and she just hugs me in return. I really miss my mom now.
"It's alright. You are always welcome here. And thank you for everything" she says, pulling away and I nod with a smile.
Steve doesn't say anything again and he is back to his straight face. I smile at Zelda, who is just half awake at this point. Ophelia is smiling as she waves at me and I walk to my car.
I smell wolfsbane but I sit anyway. I drive out of there and park my car in the next lane and jump out of it before it touches my bare skin. It was sprayed on the seat and since I am heavily clothed, it did not touch my skin.
I carefully take my phone and dial Ian.
