Chapter 22: Plan*

The group moved into the private waiting area. Kurt could still see Alannah sleeping, but it afforded them a bit more privacy.

“So, what are we going to do?” Grace said.

“Well, we could keep the information away from her,” Theo suggested.

“You mean keep knowledge about parents secret? No! I know how painful that feels and I can guarantee she will hate you for it!” Grace said emphatically.

“There is another way!” Xan said slowly.

“Yeah, Alannah comes with me as soon as she can travel. Alannah will stay with Dad and me at the Mad Dogs Headquarters. Alannah will be safe!” Theo said.

“I told you before, that is not happening!” Kurt said furiously.

“I am her Father! In Gang Law, my word is the law!” Theo snapped back.

“Technically she is still Triads property,” Xan said and was quickly met with a furious glare from Grace.

“Not true. Alannah is my Daughter, which means she is a founding Father descendant. This is on top of her Founding Mother lineage. Alannah can’t be a cursed one!” Theo said.

“Founding Mother?” Grace said.

“Anastasia Medvedev was also involved in setting down the Gang Syndicate System and trust me you do not want to cross her!” Theo said.

“Is she that scary?” Grace said and the men looked at each other with a knowing look.

“Medvedev’s are fierce and brutal, it is Anastasia that keeps them in line!” Xan explained.

“But, isn’t there someone else to take over the Gang?” Grace asked.

“Emily had an older brother, Alexander. But, he was killed in a car bomb and someone framed the Evans Gang for it. My engagement with Emily was broken off, but she must have found out she was pregnant and ran away. Not before staging her own death in a fire!” Theo said.

“Wow, and she never got in contact with you?” Grace said and Theo shook his head.

“Emily would have not risked the life of Alannah!” Theo said sadly.

“Do the Medvedev still think you killed their child?” Kurt asked.

“No, a rival gang was found to be guilty. It was too late however, everyone thought Emily was dead!” Theo said explained.

“So, in theory, we are alright? Medvedev’s won’t have a clue who Alannah is” said Grace.

“Alannah is a spitting image of Emily, and once I publicly declare she is my daughter they will come for her!” Theo said.

“Well, as I said there is a way out of it!” Xan said.

“Oh?” Kurt said.

“Yes, Kurt marries Alannah before the Medvedev‘s make any sort of claim on her!” Xan said triumphantly and everyone was silent.

“I mean, will she say yes?” Grace asked.

“Hey!” Kurt protested. 

“Well, Grace has a point, you only just met Alannah!” Xan said.

“Once Evans’ fall, they fall hard and normally forever!” Theo said softly and Grace nodded. It was true and Grace could attest to that. Grace also knew her Uncle had never had a meaningful relationship that she knew of, not till now. Now, Grace knew why; Theo had never gotten over Emily.

“So the problem solved!” Xan said hopefully.

“Well, Evans can be stubborn as well!” Theo warned.

“You don’t say!” Xan muttered earning him another glare from Grace.

“I am confident I can get Alannah to say yes!” Kurt said and Theo raised his eyebrows.

“Well..that is good because Anastasia and Demitri are here in two weeks!” Xan informed them all. 

“What?” Kurt said, suddenly panicking!

“I was able to delay the Chairman’s meeting for two weeks. I won’t be able to do that again without raising suspicions or weakening my position. I could try and keep Alannah away, but I have already have announced that the Nine-Tails will be at the opening party. If the world-famous Red Vixen is not there, again it will raise suspicions. Especially, when the Medvedev’s have specially requested to meet her, as they are a massive fan of any combat sports!” Xan said with a sigh.

To insult such a powerful Gang and a founding Mother would be trouble, to say the least.

“So, I will not announce her as my Daughter until Kurt has married her, and we won’t tell her about her parentage until after the Chairman’s meeting. Hopefully, Anastasia wouldn’t put two and two together!” Theo said. Everyone nodded in agreement, this was the plan.

“I just hope you love her Kurt, because if you break my Daughter’s heart then, I will break your neck!” Theo warned.

“You have to get in line I am afraid, Theo. The Nine Tails and I would be the first ones to kick Kurt’s arse!” Xan said seriously.

“I would no more hurt Alannah than you would hurt Grace. I get it now! I get how when you find that person, that you just know! How your whole world revolves around that one person and how nothing matters apart from their happiness. I thought at one time it was Grace, but I was wrong. What I felt for Grace is nothing in comparison to what I feel for Alannah!” Kurt said firmly.

“Oh Kurt, I am so happy for you! You have found your soul mate!” Grace said with tears in her eyes and Xan smirked.

Just then the waiting room door burst open and the Nine-Tails family flooded in. The twins were holding a box.

“Well, how is she?” Ethan said.

“She is awake now..” Grace started to explain but before she could finish the twins rushed into Alannah’s room.

“Wait!” Tao boomed forgetting where he was. Alannah, who used to Tao’s voice waking her up, jumped awake. 

“Yes, Tao!” She said before realising where she was.

“Alannah you are awake!” The Twins said joyfully in unison as they went in for a hug.

“Ethan and Aiden? Thank God you are OK!” Alannah said in a strained voice. The twins were hugging her very tightly.

“Release her now!” Roared Theo, suddenly feeling very protective over his Daughter. The Twins jumped back with a confused look on their faces.

“Are you OK Love?” Kurt said rushing to her side and checking for any injuries.

“You know she is a Nine-Tails right?” Aiden said incredulously.

“Yeah, we face danger every day in the ring!” Ethan pointed out.

“Not anymore!” Kurt said firmly.

“Excuse me?” Alannah said, not sure she heard him correctly.

“Kurt....” Grace warned.

“No Grace, I can’t cope with her getting hurt!” Kurt snapped.

Alannah put a hand on the side of Kurt’s face. Kurt was taken back by the gesture of intimacy. “Kurt, we have a lot to discuss, but we do it later OK?” Alannah said softly. 

“Ok, My Love!” Kurt said softly. 

Grace smirked at how much the Chairman of the British Syndicate, who was known for being stubborn and ruthless, was wrapped around Alannah’s little finger.

“See, Alannah is fine!” Ethan snapped whilst glaring at Kurt.

“Alannah still needs bed rest for this week,” Grace said firmly.

“Yeah, we will make sure that Alannah gets it when she is home. The Nine Tails always look after their own!” Aiden said glaring at Kurt.

“You two behave! Kurt is a Chairman and will be treated with respect!” Bruce warned.

“See what happens when you are not around to keep them in line!” Adam grumbled.

Alannah chuckled and then yawned deeply.

“Alannah is very tired at the moment, I promise you can see her again in a few hours!” Grace said.

“How come he can stay?” Ethan complained.

“Because he is my boyfriend, duh!” Alannah said sleepily. Kurt smiled as he kissed the forehead to prove the point.

“Urgh!” The Twins said.

“Come on, let’s go!” Tao ordered.

“Oh before we go, this came for you at home!” Aiden said handing Alannah a box.

“Oh, I wonder what it is?” Alannah said puzzled as she opened it. 

In the box was a large bunch of red roses and a notecard.

“Awww thanks, guys, I appreciate it!” Alannah said.

“It's not us! “The twins said and everyone else shook their heads. Alannah looked confused as she opened the notecard. 

“What?” She murmured.

“ What is it Alannah?” Xan suddenly agitated.

“It is very ! The note says: See who he runs to first, my little Vixen. Forever yours, A”
