“ Smile.” Ivan shot out with me smiling as the shutter sound filled the entry way. Ivan just kept clicking over and over again as mom moved to dad, them smiling so hard it would have me cry. Dad wrapped his arm around mom, staring as if proud parents.
I nearly just cried.
We had never had the chance to do such things. I had never brought a boy home besides Kane who had been a friend. They had never sent out their daughter, nor their son out on a date. We had just been indoor kids, never dating.
It was a moment for all of us, mom wiping away her tears, making me dab out my own tears, feeling as if I would explode from so many emotions.
“ I think…” My voice trailed away.
“ I think we have to go now.” I said out because if we stood there any longer, I would cry harder.
“ I think so too.” Mom said back as she choked on her sob.
“ You look so beautiful.” She cried out, walking to me with me walking to her. We hugged, both crying only to let go. Dad was next, hugging me so tight and Ivan being the last.
Mom went over to Azrail, hugging him as rigid as he was. The emotions were making mom hold onto Azrail. Dad literally pulled her away, with her nodding her head.
“ We love you both.” Mom said, waving her hands.
“ Bring her back by ten.” Dad suddenly said, having me stop where I was.
“ Dad, ten?” I asked out loud. I did not even want to count the hours but it was too little. My eyes were begging him, and since when did I have a curfew?
“ Vlad.” Mom cried out, slapping his shoulder.
“ Twelve.” He added with Mom giving him an eye.
“ Okay! Just bring her back.” He finally said as we all chuckled.
It was words he had never said before, having me smile.
“ I love you guys.” I shot out, turning as they shot back their love.
My arm wrapped around Azrail’s, turning us around as Azrail pulled the door open.
It was surreal for me, just wide eyed all through as we walked out of the house, mom, dad and Ivan waving over and over having me giggle as I turned to wave back.
Azrail went to the car door, opening it himself, leaving Samuel wide.
I giggled even from that.
“ Thank you.” I said back, smiling and sliding through. I knew he liked the left side of the car but no way to switch as he shuffled after me.
The door was closed, sitting on the side where I knew he always sat. It felt special to me.
My head turned, staring at him.
“ Thank you for buying me and my family all those flowers.” I said only to shyly stare at my hands.
“ I have never received flowers like that before.” I continued as he stared at me, nodding his head. He opened his mouth to close it, having me smile at him.
My awkward little robot.
The car began moving, me staring out the window as my family went back to the house. My head turned back, the car passing the gate.
There was so much space between us and as I sat there, I realized I had left my coat. My fingers ran through each other nervously only to turn and stare at him as he opened his mouth only to close it.
My head bowed, swallowing.
“ It’s okay, We don’t have say anything.” I said back to him as he nod his head.
This was Azrail. He never liked talking, especially with me, he did not liked being touched. I loved that he was trying. I loved that he was getting out of his comfort zone to try and make this work. It was enough for me.
The awkwardness in the car though just escalated up high, not even sure why. We had rode in a car together so many times, none being that awkward.
I bit my lip only to let go of it as I recalled that I had lipstick on. My legs moved up and down on their own, the hype dying down leaving the hunger just pouring at me. I had not eaten anything all day long. After the way I had been mauling at food all through the three months, my stomach was used to eating every after three hours.
