The return journey to Fenway was easier on Kennedy’s old joints. Either the warmth of the sun or the constant movement lubricated her knees and made the walk easier. Perhaps it was the need to escape this deserted version of Boston that caused Kennedy and Randell to quicken their pace. In the long run, she didn’t care for the reasoning, she simply wanted to return to a semblance of normalcy. If Tom returned, she would do what was in her power to save him as well. It was the least she could do for the man-cat.
