Marriage of Convenience

Chapter 6

Parisa helps Genesis pin her hair up. Genesis is in the bathroom.

"I can't believe I'm doing this."  She is thinking as she looks in the mirror. Genesis is wearing a white dress that came midway to her calf. The top is strapless, the front is wrapped across her stomach. Her stomach is showing.

There was a knock on the door.

"Genesis are you ready?  The limo is here."  Amil said 

"I don't have a bouquet."  She is saying as she opens the door.

Amil is standing there with a cascade bouquet of white roses. "You look amazing," He said smiling, looking her up and down.

"You look very handsome." She said smiling taking the bouquet.

Parisa is wearing a soft pink halter-style dress.

Amil and Liam are wearing white suits.

He held his arm out for her. She slides her arm around his.

Amil called his father right after Genesis agreed to marry him. 

"Courthouse"

Liam, Amil, and his father are standing in the hall waiting for Genesis and Parisa to come out of the restroom.

"Lawrence, what are you doing here? " Genesis asks hugging him. 

Parisa hugs him

"I'm here for my son's wedding." He said pointing at Amil.

"That's your son? " Genesis said looking at Amil

"How do you two know each other? " Amil asks looking at them confused and a little jealous.

"I was at the hospital with your uncle. When her parents were brought to the ER. I saw her sitting alone, waiting for the doctors. I waited with her, I didn't want her to be alone. Then Parisa came there. We all waited together. We became friends." His father said looking at his son.

"I remember you telling me and Antonio about it. You three have lunch together once a month. You never told me their names." Amil said looking at his father.

"We only know each other first names and never talked about business. We just enjoy each other company They are like my daughters. They even took me dancing for my birthday. We partied all night long. That's why I wasn't at the party, you all gave me."  His father said smiling

"So Sunshine what are you doing here? You look so beautiful. You both do." Lawrence said looking at her and Parisa. smiling

"I'm marrying Amil." She said looking at Amil

"That's wonderful! May I give the bride away?"   Lawrence said.

"I would be honored," Genesis said smiling

"Liam, you should ask Parisa out," Lawrence said looking at Parisa smiling

"We're already dating sir,"  Liam said smiling at Parisa

"Good, that's good. "Lawrence said smiling

“Having dinner at the hotel after the wedding”

"I can't believe you two tied the knot,"  Liam said

"How did you know my ring size?"   Genesis asks looking at her rings.

"Parisa told me,"  Amil said laughing.

"For future reference, don't leave me along with them. Especially if there is alcohol." Parisa said looking at Genesis repeatedly shaking her head.

"I won't. You tell everything when you're drinking. I have been telling you that for years. Remember my sixteenth birthday party?" Genesis said laughing. 

"Oh, yea," Parisa said nodding her head.

Genesis and Parisa both laughs

"How long have you two been friends? " Amil asks looking at them.  He has a feeling they will do anything for each other.

"Ten years," Genesis said

"A very long time,"  Parisa said 

They both are  looking at each other smiling

"When are you going to tell your mother? "  Liam said.

"Thursday morning,"  Amil said looking at Genesis. 

Genesis and Amil laughs

Parisa and Liam doesn't know why their laughing

"Amil POV"

After talking with my father. I went back to my penthouse. I took a shower, grab a glass, and a bottle of scotch.

I sit in the dark for hours, thinking about Genesis. The way I feel whenever I see her. How jealous I was when she was dancing with those assholes. How much I hated it when she ignored me.

When Liam and Parisa called to tell that she might marry someone else. Because I was being a jerk.

I didn't want her to be with anyone else. I don't know if it's love. I have never been in love. But I want her more than anything.

My father said if you care about someone you give them what they want.

She wants a baby. I never wanted kids. But I know I want her and that's what she wants.

So, I called Barry, he owns a jewelry store.

I knew it was late,  but I didn't care. I had him meet at his store. I called Liam, knowing that Parisa was with him. They have spent every night together since that night at the club. She knows everything about Genesis. I ask her what is her ring size. After the crying and screaming, she managed to tell me.

I told Barry I wanted something that everyone can see.

He went into his office came out with a 20 carat Emerald cut platinum diamond ring. Perfect I said. I didn't care how much it was.

I called my father to let him know that I'm going to ask her to marry me.

He was happy, he never did believe in arrange marriages I ask him not to tell my mother. Because she might try to come up with something to stop it.

That morning I was in my office trying to come up with a way that I knew she would say yes.

Mother and Leona came storming in, unannounced. Talking about I was taking them to lunch. She knew that already I had plans. I couldn't believe she said I was marrying Lenora in two weeks. A woman I have no feelings for.

"Never," I told my mother again.

When I arrived at the restaurant. I walked over to Genesis and Parisa's table.

Genesis's back was facing me. She didn't know I was there. I listened to them talk.

Parisa hooked her for me. It's up to me to reel her in. She pretends she was talking about her and Liam. Genesis told her if she like him to give him a chance. Parisa asked why she won't give me a chance.

I didn't know she knew about the whoring way Genesis said, I was with different women every night.

That's what I did, but not every night. It stung hearing those words coming from someone you care about.

Everything I said to her was the truth. I did think about her all the time. About me wanting to go get her off the dance floor. Mother and Lenora shotgun wedding plans.

I put everything out there. But being on vacation with Jennifer. That was one of the main reasons I didn't call.

We agreed to get married. I wanted to do it today. I rushed it, but now she can't get away from me.

She was looking amazing in that dress. She looks amazing in everything.

I was surprised that my father knew her. I was a little jealous when he said they went out dancing. I don't like men dancing with her. She moves so damn sexy. Not even trying to.

I plan on giving her a large elegant wedding one day soon. The one that most woman dreams of when they were a little girl. If that is what Genesis wants.
